Dealer Makes Mistake ,What do you do?

My mantra when gambling with others at table games "Mind your own business, you will live longer !!..."

If their mistake was big enough, and you don't repay, your invitation to use the facilities WILL be SUMMARILY revoked.

And you know this to be a fact how?

Has anyone here ever been asked to give back money due to a mistake?

I think it's in Whale Hunt in the Desert that a casino accidentally tour up a player's maker thinking he repaid the money. When the casino explained the situation and asked the player for the money, he told them to either show him the marker or he wasn't going to pay. And that was that.

I guess they could ban someone but they have a better chance of getting their money back if they let you play.

Well, since I only play at the $5 tables, I'm about insignificant in the casino's opinion, so I don't think they'll be rushing to throw me out anytime soon... lol

I'd only stay at a table if they were 'honest' mistakes. If I thought the dealer was doing something funky on purpose, I would leave.

As DonDiego always reminds me...'if you aren't having fun or it doesn't feel right, leave the table.' (or should it be, "if one isn't having fun and one doesn't feel right, one should leave the table"?)

YES.

When a legitimate mistake was caught before the next hand had been dealt, and I'd been paid on a push, as well as the player next to me. The pit supervisor caught it and told the dealer. The last hand was reconstructed, and chips paid by accident returned to the rack. Must have been a whole $10 per player, and it was a break in dealer, I think her second day. She was not the brightest light on the Christmas tree by any standard, and I'd induced an error the day before with her as well. I was at the table because I'd used and won a match play coupon, and decided to stay and play a little longer because of her lack of experience.

BTW: I induced the dealer error with a verbal count that was "wrong", after my psychological suggestion was accepted by the dealer. The floor had been behind me, out of my sight line or I never would have "tried" that trick. I was on third base.

She had a 6 card 20 with two aces to start. It works best with 5-6+ card dealer hands. Watch the dealer. If they move their lips or use their fingers while counting their hand value, you have a great chance of success inducing an error.

My verbal "inducement" went something like, "Two or twelve, seven or seventeen, fifteen, nineteen. Good! Ehhhh! How about that! We win buddy (to other player). She "took" my word and paid our bets. IF the dealer had hit a 21, I would have said "dealer breaks with 22" instead of "nineteen". Her actual hand was: A,A,5,8,5. Oh well. Player and I both had natural 20 and stood.

Try it sometime when the opportunity presents itself. You might surprise yourself with the results. Hard to believe the tactic works, but you have to be willing to be "stupid" yourself if "caught". "Huh? Oh, I'm stupid. I am so sorry. Guess that's why I spent 3 years in summer school math. I definitely should not drink and gamble. I'm sorry. I'll go sleep it off now."

I stopped to watch a guy play by himself $100 a hand blackjack. He had a 5 card 16 against a dealer 10 and took a hit, drew a 6 and I exclaimed, "Yes!, 21" The dealer turned over a paint and paid the guy off. Her lips were moving and her eyes got puzzled but she still paid him off. They guy and I exchanged a quick look and off my wife and I went. We got about 20 seconds away and my wife said quietly, "Did you count wrong, didn't that guy have 22?"
Correct me if I am wrong is a five card draw an automatic win . This is interesting. I'll go check the Black Jack rules. I have all day just got belted in Boston with snow .

It a FIVE CARD CHARLIE! They used to pay Six Card Charlies at Vegas Club...in about 1978...but not anymore. Not anywhere as far as I know.
It MAY be "paid" in Spanish 21, a carnival game version of real Blackjack. Don't remember all the funny rules, etc.
