Defend them now!

When some on here criticized the water sellers on the strip others were quick to jump to their defense. Well defend this: Last night the overpass from Caesars to Bellagio was really congested because there were two that had coolers with beer for sale. That is just wrong and I am sure it is illegal!!!!!!!!
When I reported this I learned that this has become common on the weekends when metro police have their hands full with more serious business.
I applaud their entrepreneurial spirit but condemn their anarchic methodology. How much were they charging for beers?
How was the selection? Any microbrews or darks?
Why don't you ask the 16 year old son/daughter that was buying?"

It is unlikely that a 16-year-old would prefer a dark ale or stout.

Apparently some consider this a joke and not a real problem.

You have a firm grasp of the obvious.

I really don't consider it a problem.

When I was 16 (no, it was not during prohibition) I had my places I could buy beer.

It should be at least as easy to buy beer as it is to buy pot, and meth, and heroin, and ecstasy etc. etc.

You want to stop it? Make it a capital offence. Once the first perpetrator gets hung for the crime it'll stop.

The first time I was in Vegas I was 16 and with my parents. We stayed at the Hilton and saw Elvis. While my parents briefly ignored me, I played blackjack and drank my first Gin and Tonic. Never got carded. I wrote about my trip in my high school newspaper and I still have that article. Needless to say, my parents weren't too thrilled with my early journalism career when they got wind of it.

My second trip to Vegas I was 17. I drove my 69 Mercury Monterey with 5 of my high school friends. We stayed in one room at the Westward Ho. We all had fake ID's. We all drank, smoked and gambled for two days straight. We never got carded. My parents thought we were going to Disneyland.

It is a shame kids can't have fun like that these days.
