DELANO ????

Who can tell me anything about the DELANO? Think I have a two night offer and wondering what it is all about. think I read it has no gambling so why would they offer me two free nights? thank you for any info
DELANO (Pronounced as in Franklin Delano Roosevelt) is the rebranding of The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. It is connected to Mandalay Bay so there's a Casino there. They are marketing it as a 'luxury' hotel. Standard rooms are $200 - 300 weekdays & 3-500 weekends. Two free nights would be a nice comp.
If you should ever figure out why you received the 2 free night offer, please tell me, I would like to take advantage of such a comp.
I believe the Delano is the second or third hotel after the Delano Hotel in Miami, Florida. It is a boutique type hotel.

After looking at pictures of the rooms, it looks like someone shopped at IKEA. The trend in new hotels is to decorate in almost all white. While I'm sure this is initially impressive, I really question how its going to look in a few years (especially in Vegas). Speaking of valet, I heard they were charging overnight guests for their valet. Let us hope that doesn't become a new norm in Las Vegas.

[EDIT] I just read they stopped the overnight valet fee for their guests. Yeah. The beancounters lose one. It would have been a horrible precedent.

Actually it was an email offer we just got last week called SPRING FLING for either 3 nights at Mandalay or two at Delano. Not sure why I got it but we did stay at Mandaly for a couple nights last year also on comp. Low rollers for sure. But we very much enjoyed the stay with a room over looking the airport. Good food and I actually won money on the slots. (not so my wife who had really bad luck) Have not actually booked it yet so will believe it when it happens. We have gotten nice offers before from other places only to be told there was no room at the inn. Guess you need to jump on it or lose.
I liked that part of the Mandalay Bay better when it was the HOTEL. I've heard the lobby and halls on the first floor at the Delano are spectacular. I meant to take a look in January, but forgot.
