Demolition of Riviera Las Vegas Begins

One year I managed to accumulate 8 matchplay coupons for the Riviera. I lost 7 out of 8 of those bets =( but I always enjoyed it there.

The North Strip isn't going to be the same without the Riviera facade

As DonDiego left the Riviera with $1200-in-winnings in his pocket, he stepped onto The Strip sidewalk and a somewhat largish but youngish lady heading north in the curbside lane stopped her long pink cadillac in front of him and cheerily asked if dapper young DonDiego wanted to party.

DonDiego smiled and replied equally cheerily "No, thank you." (DonDiego suspects someone in the Riviera had seen DonDiego pocket his first-round tournament winnings and alerted the youngish entrepreneurial driver to his newly acquired riches. All of this speculation is based upon DonDiego's surmise that she was a working girl; if, in fact, she was just someone who found DonDiego attractive DonDiego may have missed a great party.)

She could've been a Mary Kay "beauty consultant" in town for a convention. She "earned" that Cadillac, either way. On her feet or on her back. Would've hated for DD to be another "trick roll" in Vegas.

Even then, back in the '80's poor youngish DonDiego had sufficient Tupperware for his needs.

Understood DD. In all seriousness, when Boiler was first visiting Vegas in the early 1980's, he did not recognize the hookers. I was quite naive.

I believe the demolition has already begun. Starting with the front doors as seen in this clip.
