Dems afraid to vote

I keep hearing here about how the rep.s are always the reason for things getting bogged down. Well now it's the dems turn then because now they're afraid to vote which means nothin g will get done which I actually take as a positive, the less this govt tries to do the better.

ASHINGTON (AP) — A fear of voting has gripped Democratic leaders in the Senate, slowing the chamber's modest productivity this election season to a near halt.
With control of the Senate at risk in November, leaders are going to remarkable lengths to protect endangered Democrats from casting tough votes and to deny Republicans legislative victories in the midst of the campaign. The phobia means even bipartisan legislation to boost energy efficiency, manufacturing, sportsmen's rights and more could be scuttled.

The phobia means even bipartisan legislation to boost energy efficiency, manufacturing, sportsmen's rights and more could be scuttled.

Fear of voting is hardly new. In the last two years of the Clinton administration, Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., blocked Democrats from offering a popular Patients' Bill of Rights, and more. At the time, Charles Schumer of New York and Dick Durbin of Illinois were among the Democrats who cried foul.

These days, Durbin and Schumer hold the No. 2 and No. 3 Democratic Senate leadership posts and now that their party is running the place, they're backing Reid's moves to clamp down on GOP amendments.
Here's a quote from the article.

"With control of the Senate at risk in November, leaders are going to remarkable lengths to protect endangered Democrats from casting tough votes".

Apparently, Democrats don't want the voters to learn what they plan to do until after the election. What would these Democrats do without their huge block of low information voters?

jatki99 seems really naive about how this country is governed, and how our leaders' inability to cooperate hurts our nation.

There's not one thing in that news story that can surprise anyone who's paid just the smallest attention to how politics works these days.

It's been true for a long time that very little typically happens in an "election year". I hate it, but this is what they're talking about.
Obama and his administration have done enough damage to our nation- he and the rest of the lying Democrats have every right to be sweating their "jobs". Luckily for the nation, Obama's regime of "change you can believe in" will end with his 2nd wasteful term. Hopefully, the Republicans will find a worthwhile candidate who will mend the damage that Obama and his twisted henchmen have wrought upon America.

"Low information voters" ?

That's rich......coming from a Faux News sheeple like yourself. Did you catch Huckabee earlier in the evening ?

I'm thinking low information (and low IQ) voter may be just the Republican robot that posts quite a lot of BS on the FFA.....who resides near the Indianapolis, IN area.

Unbelievable. From a guy who always posts the exact same crap every time yet says absolutely nothing calling other people sheep[shaking head]. Honestly, I was shocked to actually see that you are a grown man.

Marcis is correct, I'm from Indianapolis. In my town, we expect able bodied folks to fend for themselves. Those who don't vote Democrat. In my town, we expect people to have a grasp of what is going on in our state and across the country before they vote. Those who don't vote Democrat. In our state, we expect that a woman bearing children will live with the father. Those who don't vote Democrat.

Marcis is correct that I say the same things frequently; and that's because the things that make good, solid sense don't change. As America continues to slide further towards Marcis' far left leaning utopia, our economy crumbles, our family structure crumbles, and America stumbles.

All I expect from people is that they take care of themselves and those that they bring into this World. Oh, and that Marcis stops whining about America's slackers not getting enough free shit.
