Diamond Lounges -- slot machines, table games?

It appears that Harrah's Rincon has started to put VP in its Diamond Lounge. article with pictures

are there slots/vp in any other diamond lounges around the country?
Wow, that's surprising -- especially this part:

At Rincon, for example, we noticed that the pay tables on the video poker machines were actually better than on some of the terminals on the regular casino floor. Also, you will find some games in the Diamond Lounge terminals that are not available on the main floor.

I'd be shocked if they could get away with that in a regulated jurisdiction like Las Vegas. I don't think they can offer better or different games and exclude a group of people.
They have good paytables on machines on the regular casino floor now (in the video poker only section), so I'm sure these particular machines don't have BETTER paytables than those ones.

I got a survey about the diamond lounge a couple weeks ago. They were asking if we wanted gaming in the lounge. My answer was NO. I want to use the lounge to get away from gaming, but of course you can understand why THEY want it in there. The only good thing that might come out of it is that they may keep the lounge open longer. I hope so.
I hope its open longer as well!

Looking forward to playing in there on my next trip...

I prefer the DL to be a place chill between gaming session, relax, without having to go back to my room.
there's a lot of empty space in that Rincon Diamond lounge... I can picture a black jack table, a mini cage, and a kiosk of premium slots, and maybe a 24/7 hot and cold buffet with a special entrance to the hotel elevators.

Isn't there still a mini cage in the high limit area right off of the diamond lounge?

I'll have to check it out on the 27th.
Does Rincon's DL still have the fireplace(s)?
yes, there is a mini cage in the high limit area. in fact, sometimes around 3-4am they close the main cage on the main casino floor and only the mini cage is open.

in all the times Ive been to Rincon, I think I was in the diamond lounge only once. I usually arrive at Rincon about 11pm and leave around 5-AM.

And to be honest, I rarely have gone into the diamond lounge at Caesars because they cut back on the hours, and I now bring a netbook to use and no longer have to use their computers to check my email (or the business center). Another reason I don't go into the DL at Caesars is that their food offering is weak. when it first opened it was good, but like everything else in Vegas in the last couple of years, things have been scaled back.

in fact, the 7 stars check in area used to have a room with a buffet, bar, sofas, TV but about a year and a half ago that area was turned into offices.
I have never seen any sort of gaming in a DL, but it doesn't surprise me. An asistant shift manager at the Horseshoe in Tunica who I know was bitching to me a while back about all the comp whores drinking up the free booze in the DL all night instead of gambling.

I hope they wouldn't require you be gambling to get your drink comped.
