There were several "regulars" on the show -- high school couples from Philadelphia. I knew all their names -- Bob & Justine, Arlene & Kenny, etc. The Mickey Mouse Club came on immediately after Bandstand every day, and Dick Clark always closed AB by saying something like "The mouse is next ..."
When the show moved to California and was on Saturdays, it was never the same. Too slick and professional.
I also watched all the various incarnations of the Pyramid. Still see it on GSN.

Ditto what Sue said! Couldn't wait to get home from school to see the regulars and try out our dance moves! Once it moved to Saturdays it just got too "slick" and lost it's appeal.
Almost every award show on tv now can thank Dick.....he pretty much invented those shows!
RIP Dick and thanks for the great memories!
