Did you ever find money, credits, or TITO in a casino?

I have found a lot of money over the years in bill breakers and machines. No more than a hundred dollar bill though. IF I know who the money belongs to because I saw them leave it, I will honestly return it. However, if you find it and do not know who it belongs to keep it without any guilt. While it technically belongs to the casino, they will put it into an account for overages and underages caused by employee theft/error. Be aware of people watching you find it, they will say it was their's as they see you find it.
We were playing at the Sahara about 14 years ago when we went broke in the wee hours of the morning. While we were walking out getting ready to go home, my GF reaches into her purse and finds a nickel. She puts in into a DDB nickel machine and hits 4 4's w/kicker. While she was playing, I was walking down the $1 slots area, and found $6 laying in the tray. We wound up parlaying the money into a $300 cash out when we finally left at dawn.
I've found several TITOs for a few cents and played them. Last year at a Reno casino I found about $18 in a redemption machine (not the Sands which I just posted about on the paid side). There was no one around so I kept it; it was early in the morning.

What goes around comes around: At a No. CA Indian casino earlier this year I left a TITO for about $18 in a machine. I realized what I'd done and dashed back. It was less than a minute but the TITO was already gone.

After 5 days in Vegas and 3 rounds of golf at the Paiute courses, my last night in town was spent at the Orleans. I was getting hammered in more ways than one, but I did realize the $100 bill in the tray at the TITO machine wasn't mine. I looked to see if anyone was around but there wasn't especially since it was 2 am or so. I called security over. He took the bill, my name and address. When I went home, I told my teen-aged daughters about it as a teachable moment. Do the right thing. One year later I get a letter from Orleans apologizing for taking so long in sending me a check for the $100 since no one claimed it. Very cool.

No, DonDiego has never found money, credits, or TITO in a casino. And he did not play them either. It must've been someone else.

I've found small amts here and there, have forgotten $ in a machine myself when I'm tired and/or having too much fun Usuallly, however, I will leave a few cents on a machine or donate my tiny TITO to my neighbor when it's not enough for a spin and I don't want to add more $$$.
A few weeks ago I was at Harrah's Joliet. My friend had to use the restroom b/4 we left, so, I sat down in an aisle chair to wait for her & people watch. A guy sits down at a .02 machine, tito sticking out, he takes it out, puts in on the side and he puts money in the machine. A few seconds later, a woman comes up, tells him she forgot her tito, she looks at the amount and accuses him of playing on her credits. She had more $ than was on the tito he handed her. Well, turns out security was called. I called over another guard, told him I saw the whole thing...the tito was already printed out and he was playing on his coin. He thanked me, told me this is a scam they are aware of. He also told me, if you sit down at a machine with a tito, call over casino personnel, let them handle it.
Leo, interesting story. And something to watch out for. thanks for posting.

And since you brought up scams... be aware of when someone comes to you at a machine to ask a question... an accomplice might also come by and press your "cash out" button while youre looking the other way.

This is why I hate it when CWs come by and ask you for a drink. I know the polite thing is to make eye contact when talking to a CW but I am afraid that when I take my eyes off the machine anything can happen. I know of too many instances when a distracted player got ripped off-- and at the same time I know that I can be perceived as rude.
This will be a good lesson for me. I'll be the first to admit that when I come across a TITO I'll pick it up and play it. Now I'll need to be more careful. If I see a TITO from now I'll consider calling over a worker or security personnel. It's just not worth being accussed of stealing, whether it be from a casino or another patron. It's not going to be easy to do especially if the TITO is a "goodly" amount.
Another TITO scam is the ticket cashing machines. Most have 2 slots(in case one breaks I guess) but only one person at a time. If you put in a TITO in one slot and then another in the other, the 1st one will pop out.
I have heard of ppl at these then someone else will walk up and put in a 1cent TITO in after the 1st person put theirs in.
The original ticket will pop out not the 1cent one and the scammer will act like he goofed, take YOUR TITO and leave....quickly.
