Did you ever find money, credits, or TITO in a casino?

Leo, interesting story. And something to watch out for. thanks for posting.

And since you brought up scams... be aware of when someone comes to you at a machine to ask a question... an accomplice might also come by and press your "cash out" button while youre looking the other way.

This is why I hate it when CWs come by and ask you for a drink. I know the polite thing is to make eye contact when talking to a CW but I am afraid that when I take my eyes off the machine anything can happen. I know of too many instances when a distracted player got ripped off-- and at the same time I know that I can be perceived as rude.

This is why I always put my hand over the "cash out" button area before I ever turn around to talk to someone. A few years ago I saw this scam being worked on a busy night at an Indian Casino and followed the person who took the ticket until I could also get the attention of a security guard and report them. They took it from there. The security found me later and they gave me a buffet for 2 for free....

yes, I found a $100 chip on the floor in the monte carlo a long time ago. When I noticed it, my hubby was looking at his winnings from the craps table and walking at the same time, I asked him how may "black" chips he had, and he said 7...which is what he was supposed to have, so this one was extra. No one ever stopped us as we continued on, I guess they thought it must have been ours.
I've never found anything to speak of. But, years ago, while I was playing VP late a night at MSS, an attendant came to me with a bucket of quarters that someone had left. He said it had been sitting there for a few hours and that people working for the casino were not allowed to take it or gamble with it, so he asked if I wanted it. I was a little leery, but ended up taking it.

What I have experienced more than once is going up to a machine that no one is at, putting some money in, and starting to play without noticing that there's already a balance there. Then someone comes along and tells me they were playing that machine, and you have try to figure out how much of what's in there is yours and what's theirs. If people leave a machine, I think you should cash out. Trying to divvy up something that you've not kept track of can be difficult. But some people think they can "save" a machine just by leaving some money in it or tilting a chair forward against the machine, a chair that can be quickly put back in normal position by anyone.
we learned early on...the 80's, virgin LV trip..don't even think about playing a machine w/ a coin cup on the seat. How times have changed.
