Dim Sum

Ok,so i'm totally ignorant about the whole dim sum thing. We tried it in san fran and didn't know how to order or what to order really.
I have dim sum on our list as we really love all types asian foods and would really like to have a cool dim sum meal one morning. I have gold coast on my notes from somebody who mentioned it on here awhile ago. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I know PHO has pf changs ,but dont know if they do dim sum or not.
Also any tips on what to order?,what are some of your favorites?,we're open to tryimg anything at least once(although i think i'll pass on the chicken feet). Appreciate any and all tips/suggestions.

If you don't want chicken feet then go to PF Chang's and get some great Americanized Chinese food. That place at Gold Coast has things I've only seen in China. And that's not necessary a good thing.
P.F Chang doesn't do the dim sum! If you want a good one the one at the gold coast is very good! Cathay is my second pick in vegas!

Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast
4000 West Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89103
(702) 367-7111 ? (800) 331-5334 ?

Or

Cathay House Dim Sum Restaurant
5300 Spring Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89146
(702) 876-3838
Thanks kev, what i was looking for.
Are the waiters any good at recommending which ones are good and what they are? The place we went to in san fran wouldn't tell us us squat and were really rude. I suppose thats partly our fault,we were the only white people in there and i dont think they appreciated us being there very much.

Stick with good ol' biscuits & gravy!!! "Dim Sum good eats!"

sorry, couldn't help myself
We ate at PPP last Monday; got there when they opened at 10 a.m. and it was uncrowded. The caveat about getting there that early is that the carts don't come around as often. I'd suggest 11 if you're doing a late breakfast or early lunch. Most of the women who push the carts around speak only a little English. PPP has a lot of shrimp dishes so they do recognize that word. Maybe a third of the dishes are obvious: noodle dishes, soup, veggies. Yah, chicken feet is infamous but I'm Asian and I don't eat it because it's all skin and bones.
I go to PF Changs like I'd go to any American restaurant. Not saying it's bad, I like it, but it's not really Asian food.

C'mon John, you must be getting sleepy. PPP = Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast. Try the fish balls if they have them. I had fish balls in Fuzhou and they're pretty good.
