A Disturbance in Baltimore

Since we are ending wars lets end the war on poverty and save hundreds of billions per year. Poverty rates haven't changed since we started that "war"

I disagree with your statement that legalization will make drugs cheaper and people won't need to rob and steal to get their drugs. With Heroin at $3 per bag today, I cannot see CVS selling it any cheaper when Oxy cost in excess of $30 per pill. Look at the price of Legal Pot where it is legal. On an economic basis, all your assumptions are based upon cheap, legal drugs and I contend Legal drugs will certainly not be cheap.

Oxycontin is expensive because the government regulates it as a controlled substance. You have to show up in person at the pharmacy and present your prescription in person to have it filled. Furthermore pharmacys are given a set allotment every month and once that allotment runs out it is tough shit for anybody that needs their prescription filled.

I ran into this a couple of years ago. I was told the only pharmacy that had any in stock was 125 miles away. Now if you're on a super duty pain med the last thing you want to do is hop in the car and make a 250 mile round trip to get your legitimate prescription filled.

But to me the ultimate slap in the face was when they started making you show a photo id and fill out a log to buy one bottle of non-prescription cough syrup because some people abuse it. That is a police state mentality and to me it all fits together in this sick militarized culture we live in now.

Hell 100 years ago they put cocaine in soft drinks. Today they put Aspartame in diet sodas and people think that is progress.

Fixed!

I would not call that fixed - I would call it plagiarized......but please feel free to continue your dishonesty - it suits you well.

To your point, the rioters in your pictures (I saw no evidence of their citizenship), ARE entitled to a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. In fact, a good number were released without bail. I did not hear the states attorney refer to their prosecution as a "cause" either. So, I hope the accused officers will get the same presumption / courtesy.

Once again forky doesn't tell the whole story. The Atlantic article from 2014 sites a study from 1991, almost 30 years ago, which means most of the police in the study are retired by now.

We now find out that the Grey family attorney contributed to the city's attorney's campaign. The city attorney is married to the city councilman in whose district the incident occurred, who could be voted out if the case doesn't go the way the neighborhood wants. Conflict of interest anybody?

Sounds like a conspiracy to me. You have to admit it was a master stroke to realize in advance that your 25 year old was going to get picked up without probable cause by the police and then they were going to sever his spinal cord. That takes some real foresight to see ahead like that.

I would call it ridicule.

Under the circumstances, both rioters and cops have the legal presumption of innocence, but we are all free to look at the evidence and have opinions. And yes, the cops will probably get off. They almost always do, don't they?

It cites several studies. Like this one from 2012:

The Six Perps

Liberals believe that the Constitution is best when ignored.
