A Disturbance in Baltimore

Forkie, why are you backing a lifelong criminal? A guy who ruins lives selling heroin. Which would Forkie prefer to live next to Mommy's house, any of the cops or Freddie Gray?

I thought these citizens might be innocent until proven guilty - or have they changed the Constitution when I was not looking?
Fixed!

I would not call that fixed - I would call it plagiarized...
I would call it ridicule.

Under the circumstances, both rioters and cops have the legal presumption of innocence, but we are all free to look at the evidence and have opinions. And yes, the cops will probably get off. They almost always do, don't they?

Hands up, don't shoot! That was an accusation coming from blacks and it is still coming from blacks. It was proven to be a lie. It is apparent that many blacks, if not most blacks, are willing to lie about black on white violence.

How many of the accusations in your chart were lies?

I disagree with your statement that legalization will make drugs cheaper and people won't need to rob and steal to get their drugs. With Heroin at $3 per bag today, I cannot see CVS selling it any cheaper when Oxy cost in excess of $30 per pill. Look at the price of Legal Pot where it is legal. On an economic basis, all your assumptions are based upon cheap, legal drugs and I contend Legal drugs will certainly not be cheap.

Oxycontin is expensive because the government regulates it as a controlled substance. You have to show up in person at the pharmacy and present your prescription in person to have it filled. Furthermore pharmacys are given a set allotment every month and once that allotment runs out it is tough shit for anybody that needs their prescription filled.

That's total bull. I've had many prescriptions for oxycontin when I got out of the hospital and some since, never once did they say"oh we've used up our allotment". There were a few times they were out but would have some tuesday(or whatever) when our next trtuck comes in. Since I know my pharmacist I'm gonna ask to confirm it.

Just ask him why they're so expensive. That's the real question.

I have been told that several times. I had a long discussion with the CVS pharmacist about it and he explained to me that is how it works. He said they specifically put in requests to the DEA for a larger allotment, but the DEA has so far ignored their requests. It is the same for other controlled substances too.

There are lots of articles online about it too.

In interviews with Pharmacy Today, pharmacists say they have had to turn away substantial numbers of patients with valid pain therapy prescriptions because their wholesalers, under what some suggest is stepped-up DEA pressure, have set monthly limits on their orders and in some cases stopped shipments altogether.

Here is one talking about ADHD meds:

Quote

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has the final say over the active ingredients in many ADHD medications, however, because the active ingredients are considered controlled substances. Active ingredients include amphetamine salts and methylphenidate.

The FDA only oversees the safety and efficacy of prescription drugs in the U.S.; it has no control over drug availability.

In 2011, the DEA steadfastly refused to raise the annual manufacturing quotas of these ingredients, suggesting it was the manufacturers to blame for the shortages. In January 2012, the DEA finally relented after increasing public pressure to fix the shortage, and raised manufacturers’ quotas by one-third.

amphetamine salts are yummy by the way.
$30 a pill?

I was on both percocet and vicodin and neither ran more than a few dollars a pill.

That's somewhat telling right there isn't it? Anyway I'm going by my pharmacy tomorrow to drop of a scrip, I'll definitely inquire and will be shocked if there's any truth to it.I think you might have too many conspiracy theories going through your head mal. But we'll find out.
I'm gonna add that one time my CVS was out because someone screwed up but the other local CVS had plenty. I went to the walgreens next door before I drove into town and sure enough they filled them no problem. I got out of that article, yes my own deduction could be wrong, that maybe the DEA is limiting to some stores tjey might suspect of filling illegal scrips or something? Oxycontin from what I understand is in great demand on the street and a lot of money to be made. Who knows, I could be way off the mark, but I'm gonna find out.

Oh yea, they're quite expensive, not 30 bucks expensive but pricey. If I remember I paid something like 130-150 bucks for 50 or 60.
