A Disturbance in Baltimore

I agree - people have a right to protest in a respectful manner ---- when either side crosses the line, the side of "law and order" usually wins and people on the other side often get hurt.

However, my point was specifically pointing towards being stopped by a Police officer as in the case of Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, etc. The civilians killed did not cooperate and were belligerent - so at the very least they had contributory negligence.

Standing down also makes sense in certain instances - as in the case of children endangered for a minor law like a land dispute or a 100MPH police car chase through a school zone.
DonDiego is glad the riots in Baltimore have ended.

A Weekend In Baltimore - 9-10 May, 2015
The incidents reported on Saturday included:
•1 a.m., 1600 block of Pennsylvania Ave., a 17-year-old shot in the shoulder and leg.
•10 p.m., 400 block of Poplar Grove, a 17-year-old shot in the neck.

On Sunday, the 10 shootings and homicides included:
•12:46 a.m., 4100 block of Rockfield Ave., a man shot dead.
•1:30 a.m., 2100 block of Herbert St., a 32-year-old man shot.
•2:23 a.m., 4000 block of E. Northern Parkway, a 33-year-old man shot in the arm.
• 4:03 a.m., a 23-year-old man walked into a hospital after being shot in the legs. He told detectives he was shot by an unknown assailant, and detectives continue to investigate where the shooting took place.
•5 p.m., 2800 block of Edmondson Ave., a 37-year-old old man was found shot in Baltimore County but told detectives he had been shot in West Baltimore.
• 6:07 p.m., 800 block of N. Franklintown Road, a 20-year-old was shot in the arm.
•10:21 p.m., 5400 block of Crismer Ave., a man was shot to death.
• 10:30 p.m., 1300 block of N. Carey St., a man was fatally shot.
•10:47 p.m., 4900 block of Beaufort Ave., a 23-year-old man was shot in the torso and legs.
•11 p.m., 5400 block of Fairlawn Ave., a man was shot dead.

DonDiego is happy he visited M&T Bank Stadium several years ago to attend an NFL game. He found the area and the people whom he met, especially in far east Baltimore pleasant and friendly.
Nonetheless, he has no plans to spend a weekend thereabouts anytime soon.

Forkie posts.............

"Maybe because the Baltimore mayor wants to punish thug cops, and the mayor of Ferguson doesn't."

That's possible, but is a also possible that demographic groups are different....................different for what ever reason? Are blacks better at basketball and football, or are NBA and NFL owners racist? I suggest blacks are generally more gifted athletically. Somehow, to suggest that for whatever reason, blacks are not performing will in business is racist, yet to suggest that whites aren't performing well in sports is not racist. Most Liberals don't grasp the irony. Blacks, for whatever reason, do not perform well in school and because of this they don't perform well in the business world. These truths are also lost on most Liberals.

After yet another NYC cop gunned down & the fear of being brought up on charges, what you are going to see are the police responding slowly to calls & sitting in the cars. The result will be higher crime rates

25 homicides in baltimore since the Grey incident amid reports the police are standing down

I'm curious, in Fergeson people were calling for the heads of the mayor and chief of policve. Why didn't they do that in Baltimore....? Hmmm...I wonder why....?
Maybe because the Baltimore mayor wants to punish thug cops, and the mayor of Ferguson doesn't.

And remember, thug cops make the streets more dangerous for the good ones.

Something is seriously wrong with the "juveniles" in Baltimore:
"On the day of the attack [Wednesday 22 April], [Rick] Fletcher noticed two girls fighting outside on his truck, and he tried to break up the fight. A large group of teens swarmed around and attacked him. The attack was caught on surveillance video.
Friends of Fletcher said the 61-year-old is now disabled, and it will be some time before he fully recovers. The violent attack left Fletcher with two broken eye sockets, broken ribs, a broken nose and bleeding on his brain. He was beaten so badly that he was placed in a medically induced coma."

The Hope

DonDiego would prefer to display a photo of the Maryland Execution Chamber, but unfortunately Governor Martin O'Malley signed a bill on May 2, 2013 abolishing the death penalty in Maryland.
