Do you have a budget when you go to Vegas? Do you borrow money when you run out?

Personally, I have a budget and try not to overspend it. If I run out of money, I would not borrow from my pension fund or from a bank. I would just cut back my spending.

How about you?
I always have separate budget for both gambling and food/entertainment. I have never run out of money or even came close. If I ever ran out of gambling money I just wouldn't gamble the rest of the trip.
Depends. If its something for today, I wouldn't borrow for it. If its something that will be useful for the next ten or fifty years, I have no trouble borrowing for it. Why should I pay the full freight for something people after me will use.
But I digress. You are talking about a trip not Vegas, right? Not just another thinly veiled political thread, correct?
I always have a set budget and have never gone over it. I set a daily amount for spending and keep that amount of cash in envelopes marked for each day, to be opened when I wake up that morning. Once the envelope is empty, I'm done spending/gambling for the day. Any money I've won is kept separate, and is used for whatever I want (or not). Leftover budget cash is rolled into the next day, or sometimes set aside. In all the years I've been going, I've never had to use an ATM in Vegas, nor borrow from my companions so this system seems to work well for me.

...that's what casino markers are for
I am much more disciplined in Vegas than I am at my local casino. If I run out of my gambling fund for the day, that's it until the next day. I have taken a few ATM's draws here and there, here it's Vegas and I felt lucky.
I must say most of my Vegas trips I have have come home a winner or with 1/2 of my bankroll....

...it's those damn local trips that take my money.
lol

"Do you borrow money when you run out?"

-----------------------------------------------------

I would much rather see the question phrased "if you run out", ......... not "when you run out".

Rick
I never borrow money in Vegas, anyone who has enough sense to accumulate any money has enough sense not to lend it to me.
I used to run out of money. Now I just bring more money.
I've made the "walk of shame" to the ATM but have never had to borrow money in LV. For my April trip, I'm going w/my teenaged son so I've scheduled shows/outings that will be fun, keep us busy, allow for very little gambling time. I like to pre-purchase tix when I can(at discount prices,)use a lot of coupons, and always get free rooms so I probably take less $$$ than most. Also, if my son is going w/me, I give him shopping $$$ up front and when he's out, he's done! Lastly, I don't use credit cards, only cash and debit card, so I have to be disciplined as I am limited to my checking account.
