It's a me-too city. MGM decided to build a City Center…so Boyd attempted to build an Echelon Place (at the expense of our beloved Stardust and Westward Ho). For every Cosmopolitan, there’s an unfinished Foutainbleau.
Did we need a Mob Attraction and a Mob Museum? Did we need two giant Ferris wheels? 50 high end burger joints? Obviously not. One bar makes a Mongolian Fusion Karaoke Tapas Happy Hour and a month later there are three in town and all of them struggling.
So...now another arena? And what is the Convention Authority going to do with all that property where the Riviera sat? More convention space? Oh yeah, there's going to be saturation and not all will survive. Eventually.
