Do you suppose that one's level of physical activity might affect one's metabolism?

No?

Yeah, you're probably right.

Madeleine Albright would fit the bill, she's got some heft to her.

The metabolism theory does have some merit, generally the bigger the person the lower the metabolism. Hence more treadmill time for those folks.

Just stating a simple fact that family genetics, and several other factors also play into the weight of people. To say a person is fat because of simply what they shove into their mouth is a simple and closed minded way of thinking.
I am aware of Bourdain's porkdilection. He has attended pig roasts in maybe two or three dozen countries.

DD, you worry for naught. There are threads I would torpedo. A thread about barbecue, like a thread about beer, even if its heading is a pseudopolitical tease, is not such a topic.

I am not a huge fan of BBQ...to me, it's just roast beef/pork type of meat with sauce tossed on...no big deal. But, oh my gosh, here in Appalachia territory, it is a HUGE thing! (along with SWEET tea). As to BBQ, I can take it or leave it (in fact, I'd probably be happier to put ketchup on my beef/pork as BBQ sauce....); however, I will say that I really enjoyed the sweet mustard BBQ sauce we had at Duke's in South Carolina. It was very good.

btw, in Arizona to BBQ was to make hamburgers, steaks or chicken outside on the grill (at least that's what it meant in my family). I learned my lesson VERY quickly here in Appalachia territory. BBQ means one thing and one thing only! Making burgers, steak or chicken on my grill is "Grilling" NOT BBQing! lol.

Love the KC BBQ the best. Vinegar has no place in BBQ.

Right!

Now if we can put Gates sauce on Arthur Bryant's meat, you have the perfect plate of food.

Teechur, BBQ is and always has been the low and slow method. Anything else is grilling, pure and simple. Don't worry, lots of folks were taught elsewise. So there's no harm/foul in this case. (yes, my entire family is guilty of this one, so I am quite familuar with it)
