Don't trust Binions

On July 31st, we found in Binions a nice brand named purse that was left at one of the machines. We did not open it, but brought it to the security desk. We were told that if no one claimed it after 30 days, we could come back and claim it. They gave us a little ticket.

Today we went back and were told by the same woman that the named brand purse was "disposed of" 3 days after the 30 days. She took my receipt and threw it in her trash. I asked for it back and she would not give it to me. She called her supervisor and he said the same thing - you cannot have your receipt back.

She had never told us that we only had 3 days after the 30 days to claim it. Why would they not let us keep the receipt? Geez, it was only 7 days.

Was this last year? Your dates don't compute.

Anyway, the lady you spoke with is probably enjoying her new purse.

Actually, I would not want a stranger's purse...ick.
I'm sorry - June 30th! A little over 30 days ago.
What kind of purse was it?

That purse was gone the day you handed it in. No doubt someone in security claimed it and now owns it.
LOL. Further proof to my theory that you can either do "the right thing" and get the big stiffy, or you can follow Nesalk Rule of Life #47--finders keepers.
I am sure that this is not specific to Binions...it could have happened anywhere.....
Last Christmas I found a little girl's purse in the mall. It had absolutely no way to identify the owner and the only thing in it was 100 bucks. I knew if I turned it in that mall security would be getting a 100 dollar bonus that day so I gave them my number in case someone came looking for it but I kept the purse. I put an ad on craigslist and after two weeks I spent the money. The mall security people were pretty pissed that I wouldn't give them the purse or even let them see it. I knew what they were up to.
My wife found a $20 bill in the locker room at the gym. She turned it in and was told that if nobody claimed it in a week that it was hers. A week later she went back to claim it. She had to talk to three people including the manager, and it took her thirty minutes, but she finally got the $10 and two $5s.
