btw...I for one am happy to have (hopefully) many more years of earthly existence to go! Especially if I can watch my Arizona Cardinals go to the Superbowl again or kick DonDiego's butt at miniature golf again!
Oh Pooh!
Hey, . . . all DonDiego intended in his initial post on this matter was to suggest that atomic/nuclear explosions were insufficient to destroy all matter as we know it. Now it's degenerated into a God vs Physics debate. [n.b. If the God vs Physics debate is settled on a Las Vegas Advisor Forum, DonDiego will eat his hat.]
DonDiego's been around long enough that when he was an adolescent the big debate in physics was: Is the Universe expanding or contracting or static? Nobody knew nothin' 'bout black holes, and dark matter and dark energy hadn't been conceived. When poor old DonDiego considers all those Summer hours he spent reading science books instead of pursuing the town doctor's daughter, . . . well, . . . it just brings up thoughts of the road not taken. But DonDiego digresses . . .
Anyway, physics describes things as best it can. And it seems likely to DonDiego that God, . . . if indeed there is a God, . . . is quite capable of working within the Laws of Physics if/when he chooses to destroy the Earth, or, even, the Universe. Or not, since He invented the Laws of Physics it's entirely up to Him how they work and if they work. DonDiego doesn't necessarily see an inherent contradiction in God and Physics.
Oh, and although DonDiego is reluctant to embrace the doctrine of any religion, . . . after all he might choose the wrong one with unpleasant consequences, . . . he remains open to the possibility of an all-knowing, all-powerrful Creator and/or Destroyer. DonDiego harbors no aversion to hedging his bets. So, just in case, he has instructed teechur to do her best to facilitate a deathbed conversion to Catholicism when DonDiego's demise is imminent.
