DOUBLE JEOPARDY????

That Amanda Knox woman who was found innocent in that Italian murder trial has had her verdict reversed by the Italian Supreme court. They want her to come back to Italy. WTF??? I say that it's double jeopardy, and if it was my daughter, I would make sure there was no way she would be going back to Italy to face the charges. The way the Italian courts look at it is that it's a continuation of her trial. I say BS...it's double jeopardy! What say yee?

By the way, the USA tends not to extradite people back to Italy even though they have an extradition treaty with Italy!

I agree with you Bags that it is clearly a double jeopardy case. But that law is not good in Italy. They can flip flop all they want over their. I am with you as I would not send her back to Italy for imprisonment. The US will extradite her in a heartbeat. Lets keep watching the news to see how this unfolds. I say she disappears!

Some european countries allow a person to be tried twice for the same crime include Italy and ( I believe ) England.

They say it's not DJ because it's a continuation of her trial. Imagine what woould have happened if that was the OJ case. Cities would still be on fire.

Unlike law in the United States and some other countries, the Italian system does not contain so-called "double jeopardy" provisions that prevent a defendant being tried twice for the same offense."

The Italians simply do not have a provision against double jeopardy; the the Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution does.
