Downtown Grand has closed its pit and the few remaining tables have been moved to the high limit area.

That's a shame. I like the place!
To be fair - the only table games that had regular action at the Grand where craps and blackjack. The other tables were always dead....
but I dont understand taking table games out of the center of the casino and moving them into the corner. Why not just leave the open tables where they are? Nobody wants to go into that small, unventilated room in the back
We were here in Vegas for a few days and decided to pay for a night at the Grand to check things out. Just now checked in. Of note, new players club started today. We were advised by the valet to see the players club. Oh, as of today there is now a $7 valet charge as well that is no longer covered by the $19.95 resort fee. The valet said you need a higher tier player card to get free valet now.

Nice room!

Off to the players club.

It seems that the old Lady Luck is having it's problems after being reincarnated as the Downtown Grand. Apparently the owners/management can't quite seem to grasp that the way to prosper is to quit acting like a strip property . Give the gamblers a REASON to trek to the casino - such as good VP,comped rooms, free valet, and a great friendly slot club. Is that too much to ask?
I give them props for trying but $18.99 resort fee is still too high if you ask me; even with pool access, free wifi, and 2 bottles of water, and exercise/weight room useage, and this

I don't want to pay to park or pay to valet. I don't mind tipping the valet. when will these people learn? if you r going to nickel and dime me before I get to the casino, i will gamble elsewhere.
Either a big oops or the beginning of the end.

Stupid move either way.
I remember by the time I found the Commissary, its across the road from the casino, it was 9:05.The coffee was still there but they wanted to charge me $3.50 for it.What both the DG and SLS need is someone in charge who knows what they are doing. What is Maloof doing?
$3.50 for coffee that had probably been sitting around for a while. another smart move from management and marketing. if I am going to pay that much, I will splurge for starbucks on fremont and of course I would now most likely end up in another casino. I like the rooms/pool at DG, and I would like to see them succeed. will they figure it out before it is too late? stay tuned......
