Downtown Grand has Closed its Pit

Now I don't feel so bad. I never received the postcard for any free nights, like other posters here did, despite taking the time to utilize the DG Loss Rebate promotion back in July.

When I returned to the DG end of August, I was surprised at how empty the casino looked. And the cafe (the Commissary?) had just two tables occupied for lunch. Very strange.
We always park in the multi-story parking garage across the street and just get the parking ticket validated at the players' club booth, so having no free valet parking is irrelevant to us.

In my opinion, the bartenders were a lot less friendly this time around . . . we basically felt ignored. Oh well.

I believe you have to be a silver tier or up card holder to receive a parking validation now.Basic card is now white.

Had more fun in the old run down Lady Luck--Been there four times and each visit there were less and less people. Table games never have had more than two or three people at the tables...Need someone walking around and taking a survey as to asking "what's wrong with this place"...
I have never heard of a casino charging for valet parking. Has anyone ever heard of any casino, anywhere, charging for valet??????

(Oops... I take that back. There are a couple of card casinos in LA that charge for valet. But they are card casinos.)

We were just there a week ago. Parking validation if using your card. We parked in the garage for about 4 hours, the ticket was validated at the booth, free parking. We have the basic card (blue).
uh oh, we have our last 250 comp to redeem in Nov. Well, actually we specifically asked if any of it would be in december, they said no, then when we went to redeem our last one was around Christmas....I supposedly have the managers name and she typed a message into the system that said we could redeem in November...but the miscommunication was there. Otherwise, we have been okay and are actually even there with the promo.

As for the valet thing, is the D still free? The guy tried to give me a hard time last time and made me produce my players card prior to parking, although I was an invited guest using my dinner comp. He said it was for hotel guests only. If fremont messes up our parking in Vegas, Vegas is going to have a riot on their hands. The parking is a big deal.

Main street sends me a parking pass now or I have to flash my status card to park, otherwise they say you must present a dinner receipt.

Golden Nugget almost from the beginning of the transition, if not before was stingy on valet parking. I don't valet on strip, but even the 3 hour thing downtown makes me not want to self park....I mean, again, real players are hopefully going to be there for more than 3 hours....they need to do something like earn a nominal amount of points for players....say 5, 10, or 20 worth of play...win, win....players get free parking, but no freebies for non-players.

fyi, sept 26 weekend is life is beautiful downtown, so I look for there to be no rooms and a lot of people....

Downtown Grand is giving away a Count Custom Motorcycle.

I would play that count custom blackjack if they would let me redeem my free room offers.
They should bring in a Chipotle and $.99 shrimpie cocktails.
