Downtown Grand has Closed its Pit

I will never put a cent into any of these games - calling them "skill "based is a load of crap. Just like arcade games, they have a certain hold percentage that no level of "skill" can overcome. Being dealer less just means more profit for the casinos while the lemmings keep putting money in these games while watching sports on the monitors. Anyone who plays these games is just fooling themselves if they think they are "skill" based.
1) I got to use 2 out of my 4 free nights at DTG for 9/28 & 9/29, checking out on 9/30/15.
2) On 9/28, I had $40 of free slot play on my card
3) On 9/29, I had another $40 of free slot play on my card
4) I had $25 in dining credit load on my slot card (not charged to my room)
5) With the $40 in free slot play on 9/28, I hit a $500 & $250.
6) I parked in the self parking lot (free with validation). Never used the valet
7) This is a picture of the Harley, just outside of the table games room (my photobucket not working)
That article says that 61% of a casino's profit comes from slots. In a conversation with an IGT (slot maker) executive I was told it was 75%. The "skill" based games are proving to be a problem in the legal department. Good news for my combined income.

I would play that count custom blackjack if they would let me redeem my free room offers.

The DG is so totally screwing itself, I can't beleive they're reneging on the already earned free rooms. Those mean PLAYING customers. Simply unbeleivable.

Some years ago, the Venetian changed some comped room reservations to "casino rate" reservations AFTER people made the reservations! If I remember right, one LVA FFA regular didn't find out that she no longer had a comped room until she went to check in at the hotel!

I like the dealer-less craps machines. Actual large dice are "tossed" under a bubble in the center of machine cluster. I like the low minimum bets allowed on these machines - you can make a $1 or $2 pass line bet instead of $5, $10 or $15 minimums you see these days on most regular craps tables. As to skill, a basic knowledge of craps odds, and placing bets to maximize your odds versus house odds are still a factor.

I have only tried to play the craps "slot" once. I thought it would be great with the low minimums. However, there was a very short amount of time to "place your bets" which didn't seem to allow full advantage of all the bets. Also I seem to remember that not all of the bets available on a live table were available on the machine. I do remember that I decided not to play it again.

The pace is much quicker than it is at a live craps table. I prefer that because sometimes the time between throws on a live table is very long, for a number of reasons. From what I recall about available bets on the machines, they are there. Figuring out how to place them can be confusing. I have had success playing the machines, and will play them again!
the dealer-less craps games are great for someone wanting to learn the game without feeling intimidated. and you can sit out for a round or two if you wish. they don't usually earn points at the same rate of a slot machine, it is either reduced or not at all. a great way to get free drinks without spending too much.
