I thought that you were complaining earlier about "self serve" parking downtown. Good choice on the valet.

I don't go downtown very much, but I always valet. Downtown is near some very bad neighborhoods. I'd like to think my car has a little more protection with valet.

If we were to take the results of this thread, you would think that the majority of tourists would stay and gamble either downtown or at a local casino and would avoid the strip.

As I stated earlier, why bother coming to Las Vegas if you are not coming to the strip. Most states now have casinos comparable to the casinos downtown. Nothing in the US touches the strip.

A long time ago I always self-parked. I didn't make as much as I do today and I was under the wrong impression that valet in Las Vegas was like valet in any other state (ie expensive). My referrals to self-parking is primarily back in the 80's. Unless valet is full, I will always use it in Vegas, whether downtown or on the strip.

Of course I gave you shit because your answer was totally insincere.

The casinos in other states may LOOK like those in Vegas, but most are far cry from them. The odds are usually far worse, and I've yet to find any progressive VP that comes close to what you can get downtown or in the locals casinos. Everyone goes to Vegas for different reasons and I go to find the best chance I can of not losing my shirt, saving the glitz on the strip for brief visits.
I just got back from my 'Vegas vaction and 2 nights at MSS,3 at The Fremont. NO resort fees and the MSS had free parking and "score with 4" scratch tickets.
VERY resonable room rates and so easy to get around!Food and the gambling choices were just fine.
I never gamble on the "strip".I'll go look, but not pay the high price for a room that I just sleep in! No need for a rental car and not 1/4 mile between casino properties!
I don't walk more that 2 miles a day,anyway.
I prefer to have choices of where I gamble and I find GREAT odds, down town.
Too noisy? Walk 100 feet to the next casino.
The Fremont freaks don't bother me none.
The down town people are fine.
I don't own a $1000 suit. I like jeans. I belong there.
'Sides, you don't see this on the STRIP:

BOOBIES!!!!!
Food choices are many.Low-end to high-end.
The gambling is MUCH better than the strip. ODDS WISE.
I get what I want on Fremont Street.
ATM: $.75

I don't have to spend ALL of these, down town.

My first answer was quite sincere. I can't claim the same after that, however.

OK,valet parking.
Be a cheap-O and don't do it?
If your car is valuable,I would never park on the street, anyway.
Downtown is bad news? Yeah,in some places.
No one would jack a rental, would they?

I see. You have to make sure you answer last. What you stated in your original post does NOT apply to most people who stay downtown and I feel it was insincere. Now you can have the last post. I

Get that extra insurance from the rental car agency.
Valet? Who the hell is going to park my shoes?

I've done all 3 and so far I'm more of a downtown person. Cheap eats, cheap gambling, and everythings close.

I was snarky after you jumped on me for suggesting that you use easy free valet parking downtown instead of difficult self park garages. I should have kept me cool, but didn't. Sorry............sincerely.

Me is down town.
No go to strip, only to SEE,not to gamble.
Collect flyers' escorts to your room in 15 minutes!
See more freaks.
Take pix,get little burgers?
Waddle among the fat people that don't walk fast enough?
Walk long enough that my feet are to KILL me?
"I need a wheelchair,now!"
Find a casino that will provide me one,Ralph.
Maybe Squeezers or Harrah's.
Maybe I can get a gig doing wheelies for a "Buck a Spin",on the sidewalk.NO fat people,please.

Park your shoes and get a chair on wheels,Tony.
I have had a bit of practice.
Most of the casinos are accessable.
+*cK the stairs.
