Downtown Rates Last Week of January

I booked another great RT airfare on Spirit Airlines from MSP to the Promised Land for $85. I thought about staying downtown for the trip, but the room rates were much higher than what I could book on the Strip (Flamingo & Bally's). Anybody know if there is something "special" going on Downtown the last week in January that would warrant this price discrepancy?

Downtown is just COOLER these days.......ha. JK, I don't know why. Have an awesome trip!

Prices starts Jan 15 and go right through Jan 25. Prices are high 15/27 and then on the 27 they settle down again. When is the World Furniture Convention?? We are already booked 1/20---1/27 with air and it looks crazy for room rates.

NFC / AFC championship games the weekend of 24 January?

Mandalay Bay same thing they have some big convention I forgot what at MB. I am Harrahs and they were reasonable rates . Going DT the last weekend and I see 4Qs is running a 48 hrs sale and with AARP only 84 on the weekend. Best of all no resort fee.

WIfe and I traveling out Jan 14th to 24th. All nights are comped, so I did not even look at rates. However the rental cars seem higher than usual. Hoping that they start coming down as we draw closer to our dates and I can re-book, maybe not.

3 comp nights Plaza
5 comp nights Planet Hollywood
2 comp nights Cosmo, but do have to pay the resort fee.

So I get my downtown fix and get to enjoy center strip as well!!!!!! Yes I am READY

$85 RT from MSP is a GREAT airfare! Hope you were able to find a decent rate on rooms on the strip. Did you check the off-strip casinos?

I may be wrong but I thought the Pro-Bowl was the only football on Jan25. Not really a big deal for a football crowd.

Screw Downtown for this trip. My play at CET properties last week has generated some love. I just booked 3 comped nights at Bally's and $43 for my last night in town(a Friday). I hit the Tag bar at the Linq pretty good playing VP and played hard at Harrah's craps tables last Thursday night. So airfare and hotel expenses total up to $129 for this 4 day trip.....solid.
