Downtown trip

Also - I finally tried the little fast-food place in the Fremont Casino that Anthony Curtis raves about - Lanai Express. They serve up Chinese Food (like Panda Express) and also have hot dogs and snack bar type fare. I had the 11pm munchies. I think I paid $7 for a 3-item combo of Chinese food. They packed the Styrofoam container with about 4 pounds of food. It was good, greasy, mediocre Chinese food and it hit the spot.

By fast food standards its pretty decent - and you cant beat the price for the quantity they serve up.
the Golden Nugget and the Grand are the nicest and cleanest by far. as for dining, if you have the MRB, it is full of good offers for downtown. let the coupons in the book guide you and you will get a good sampling of downtown dining. if you are not looking for fine dining and have no coupons, pizza rock and nacho daddy's are worth a visit. hash house a go go at the plaza, if it is still there, is good. and for downtown buffets... Golden Nugget is good, Main Street Station is ok, the Fremont is a complete waste of money.

Its behind the Container Park on 7th ave. and its very casual
1 block south of Fremont Street, and 5 blocks east of the middle of the Fremont Street Experience. It's very casual and good place to visit as a single. It's worth the 10 minute walk.
