Drinks while watching Bellagio Fountains

We would like to have some predinner drinks and watch the Bellagio Fountains somewhere either at the Bellagio itself or accross the street somewhere with a good view of the fountains. We plan to go to the Rio after to the buffet using the MRB 2-1 coupon so don't want to really eat first. Can anyone suggest a location that will allow us to have drinks only?

Have drinks in the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris (be sure to go at night time). It is across the street from the Fountains and you will have an elevated view from the front. There are restaurants at Bellagio where you can view the fountain show but it is from behind or to the side and behind.

You don't have to eat dinner there in order to have a seat and a cocktail.

I would recommend the porch at Fontana's but I'm not sure if it is still open.
Swing by the Strat an hour or so before the show, get one of those giant cups of your alcohol, (if you survive) head on over to the Bellagio, and let the good times roll!

I don't think being across the Strip will offer you a "good view of the fountains".

1. There is motor vehicle traffic.

2. There are trees along the Strip in that area on both sides. The picture below shows the Bellagio side.

It's probably best to just buy a drink and stand right at the fountains and enjoy the show.
................... and in case you didn't realize it, you can drink in the open in Las Vegas.

Bring a half pint of some cheap Bourbon-Old Crow or Early Times...always works for me!
I'm pretty happy w/ bathroom tap water from my lakefront room but you must pull your own chair up to the window.. nothing is perfect
There's a small bar in front of Paris that has outdoor seating.

The Eiffel Tower Restaurant is high enough that you will easily see over the tops of any cars or trees.
........ can't hear the music that well though.
