Dumpster Diving in Vegas (TR)

Well the "newly professionally decorated" rooms at EL Cortez tell me I am not interested in Vegas designers! Yikes, looked like a fut*ched up mess

Was the Cosmo the only strip property you gambled at? Our stop last year I could hit nothing, nada!

Looks like you had a good trip and got a few "rental car miles" tripping around the city.

thanks
GREAT report. The photos of North Vegas brought back interesting memories. I don't rent cars in Vegas anymore so a couple of trips ago I took a bus to Lucky Club and then to Poker Palace and then WALKED to "explore" (would have taken the bus but wait was forever and then I would start walking to the next stop at which point the bus would come) from Poker Palace all the way down to Jerry's Nugget. Took me a few hours but I hit each place. It's a few miles I think, which didn't bother me from a physical standpoint. Safety was a slightly different matter. I live in NYC now so I'm no shrinking violet, but even during the day NV was a little scary, especially around the Opera House. When every other business within a few blocks is either a tinted car window glass business or a bail bonding business, you know it's not a good sign.

I agree with your assessments about each place and am really glad I stopped in there. The workers were pretty friendly everywhere and I thought Jerry's Nugget was especially nice. It reminded me a bit of the Eastside Cannery.
PJ: Thanks for the report and photos. Last month while I was in Vegas I also went to the

Flame at El Cortez for dinner because of you mentioning how good their food was. You were

bang on and I really enjoyed my dinner there. So thanks again.

Good information on gambling notes. Especially interesting to read of the single zero roulette table at the Riviera. Good trip report, good photos.
Great trip report PJ.

The comment about getting out of the Opera House minus stab wounds is

That avocado stuffed with chicken salad @ Jerry's Nugget looked damn tasty too !

And I 2nd your comments about the El Co and Flame Steakhouse. Great bang for your buck.
