early morning coffee

as stated in this thread, harrahs has a starbucks (three to be exact) but none are open at 5:30 am, which is what you asked.

neither is the coffee cart at flamingo or the barbary coast. which i assume you also knew, which probably prompted your question to begin wtih.

if you are like me and at 5:30 am you are searching for a simple way to buy coffee, as you clearly stated, you may not want to sit down at a bar or go to a coffee shop and eat. i would never want to sit at a machine and wait for a cocktail server, i want to buy my coffee now. i only drink iced, blah blah blah, why do i have to explain this just to get a simple answer to my question?

oh wait, it was your question. sorry, my lva defenses kicked in there.

YOU may just want to buy a cup of coffee.

the answer is: you cant without walking a bit.

im an iced coffee addict and i MUST MUST MUST have iced coffee first thing before anything. when i stay at the imperial palace, i walk over to the mcdonalds next to harrahs, its the closest place.

for the flamingo, id probably do the same, or maybe you could walk to the 24 hour starbucks at the westin, kind of a hike and you dont get the "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" of having the early am strip to yourself.

i dont know why there isnt a 24 hour starbucks in any of the strip hotels other than planet hollywood. or maybe there is and i am just unaware. id ask the board for the location of one, but id probably get answers telling me that caffiene is bad and i should switch to herbal tea.

best of luck to you!

This may be the best answer to a question on these forums that I have ever heard.

Everybody that is planning on posting a reply on LVA should be required to read this post by jenaphir.

If you want to stroll over to Ballys, in the main lobby is a 24 hour Java Roast Coffee stand. Not sure how their regular cup of coffee is, but the 2am iced mocha hits the spot during the late evening/early morning hours!
I think there was more than one helpful post.
Good luck max3cats finding coffee that early. Not having coffee machines in most of the casinos is one of the downsides of Vegas...if I remember correctly (and I'm almost a senior citizen, so may not) Vegas passed a law stating that coffee makers in casinos had to be treated like restaurant coffee makers (i.e., cleaned daily, etc.) and instead of worrying about whether the maids would clean them correctly or not (and getting sued, if not), most of the casinos decided to just get rid of them. (thank you government, for 'protecting' us)

Although I do NOT rise as early as max3cats, I know it is a pain each and every time getting our coffee fix in the morning. Someone (can we say teechur?) has to put on some clothes, grab some moola, go downstairs and find coffee somewhere before the no-coffee dragon DonDiego arises fresh for the new day....

I'm afraid I did just as Jenaphir predicted and turned this thread to me...but hey, I'm an LVAer, what can I say!

Seriously, good luck in your early-morning coffee search.

The Silverton serves Starbucks in every restaurant and bar in their casino. Twin Creeks serves a French Pressed coffee! You sure aren't to go walking there though!
Since apparently there is nowhere to get a cup of coffee at Flamingo at 5:30AM, there is a Starbucks on the corner of Tropicana and Decatur, hop in a cab tell the driver to head towards the airport, then take the tunnel route, exit on Trop and it's up on the left

wangotango, thank you. i have spent years here having to argue and defend myself just to get the answer to a simple question and its been absolutely frustrating.

mad3cats - i also thought of this - im not sure what you drink as coffee, but next to the flamingo is osheas with a subway and burger king. both i believe are open 24 hours so you could likely get a coffee there. but if you drink iced, i wouldnt. subway doesnt make iced and burger kings iced coffee is more like coffee flavored milk.
I can't believe the grief some people get around here asking a simple question...no wonder I don't ask questions here anymore and seldom frequent this board...I would think that McDonalds would be your best bet at that hour, and the coffee is surprisingly good. Pick up a couple of egg mcmuffins and your set for the morning. It's literally next door to the Flamingo so only takes a minute or so to get there. Good luck in Vegas. Max3cats, this site was good a couple of years ago but I would google other boards like Las Vegas Message Board where people actually answer questions without all the crap that happens on this board. LVAdvice is another good one.
