Ebola and Comedy Don't Mix, . . . in a Casino

Czars are never nominated. They just ascend.

Likewise, communicating facts about Ebola and suggesting means by which the threat to US citizens might be mitigated might also be considered a public service.

The same people who posted panicky "facts" on this board about Bengazhi, death panels, runaway inflation, the Bundy Ranch violation and Obama's heritage are now posting equally Scary "facts" about Ebola - Like that its airborne, or coming through our borders via illegal immigrants.

And by "facts" I mean "right wing propaganda". On behalf of all Members here let me thank the posters of these facts for there valuable public service. Ebola and comedy do mix....in a Las Vegas Message forum.
DonDiego extends an apology to pjstroh and other sensitive LVA Forum posters whom he has scared with his scary posts, . . . if in fact he has scared them. He also recommends they seek professional help in improving their coping skills.

For the record, poor old DonDiego is neither scared nor panicked by the present Ebola "crisis". But, of course, poor old DonDiego resides in Appalachia. If Ebola becomes epidemic in the United States he likely won't be personally affected until some months after the body-collectors in New York City and Los Angeles are called into action. Hopefully his garden will be in full-production.

“Not airborne. Can only be transmitted through direct exposure to bodily fluids.”

I’m not pointing fingers at anyone, but I’m wondering about something to which I haven’t yet heard a good answer: What is a sneeze if not aerosolized (i.e., airborne) bodily fluids? And wouldn’t it be especially risky in an environment in which air is continuously recirculated, like an airplane?

CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL:

Can Ebola spread by coughing? By sneezing?

Unlike respiratory illnesses like measles or chickenpox, which can be transmitted by virus particles that remain suspended in the air after an infected person coughs or sneezes, Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with body fluids of a person who has symptoms of Ebola disease. Although coughing and sneezing are not common symptoms of Ebola, if a symptomatic patient with Ebola coughs or sneezes on someone, and saliva or mucus come into contact with that person’s eyes, nose or mouth, these fluids may transmit the disease.

I should have been able to find that, but, somehow, I couldn't. Thank you, sir.

The takeaway is that if someone with Ebola coughs or sneezes on your fingers, don't turn around and pick your nose.

I'm gonna risk it. What's the point of living if you can't pick your nose?

Lord, why do they flaunt the best advice of medical science?

Ebola or No-Ebola DonDiego recommends one not pick one's nose.

If one's nose absolutely must be picked, DonDiego recommends assistance from a lesser species.
