Has anyone heard an update on this? I haven't heard a peep about Ebola since the election. If I didn't know better I'd say it was all just a ploy to rile up fearful voters before an election. Nah...

But seriously. Where are we at on Don Diego's graph of exponential infection rates? We should be in the thousands by now....i mean with people flying on commercial flights, and obama's unqualified hack running the show,...and healthcare volunteers riding on buses instead of sitting in a plastic bubble. Is it safe to come out of the basement yet? My rations are running low.

As PJ will see in this chart, Ebola deaths continue to accelerate rapidly. Most American whites and certainly most American blacks pay little attention to deaths, war, or killings in Africa. I find it especially interesting that while many American blacks "demand" to be called African American, these same folks don't give a rats ass about those dying in Africa (Chilly or Forkie are invited to provide a study to the contrary).

The Ebola Virus persists in its exponential growth. On 25 October the World Health Organization calculated the disease exceeded 10,000 cases. This is the latest chart DonDiego could find:

n.b. As in earlier posts the overwhelming number of cases remain confined to West Africa. Because DonDiego would like to keep things that way, he counsels precautions against potential carriers of the virus moving freely about the USA. pjstroh seems to overstate poor old DonDiego's "fear"; although DonDiego doesn't know the habits of all the travelers from West Africa, he suspects he is most unlikely to share bodily fluids with any of them, . . . but somebody else, . . . umm, more liberal than he, . . . might.

US Military finishes Liberia mission months ahead of schedule

"The United States military officially ended a mission to build treatment facilities to combat an Ebola outbreak in Liberia on Thursday, months earlier than expected, in the latest indication that a year-long epidemic in West Africa is waning.

Washington launched the mission five months ago and the force peaked at over 2,800 troops at a time when Liberia was at the epicentre of the worst Ebola epidemic on record.

Nearly 10,000 people have died in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea over the past year. More than 4,000 of those deaths were in Liberia, but the number of new cases has plummeted in recent months, leaving many treatment centres empty and the mission has already begun winding down."

And sometime in the next few months.........ebola will return.
