Ebola - What Should the Gubmint Do?

Pardon my vernacular, but I am so pissed at that God D$mn Obama for lot those Ebola deaths in Dallas and Vegas.

I am all in with Jefferson County, Missouri official Debbie Dunnegan (R) who has called for a military coup of Obama. As Dunnegan and Boilerman so eloquently state Obama is our No. 1 domestic enemy. And the military has Constitutional authority to take action!

Would I want to sit next to a human with Ebola...Nope
Luckily for andrew5499, Dr. Tom Frieden, Director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) addressed just this question today [15 October 2014] in a telephone news conference.

A reporter inquired: " . . . is it true that a person runs absolutely no risk of contracting Ebola on public transportation, such as a bus?”

And Dr. Frieden replied: "“I think there are two different parts of that equation. The first is, if you’re a member of the traveling public and are healthy, should you be worried that you might have gotten it by sitting next to someone? And the answer is no.
Second, if you are sick and you may have Ebola, should you get on a bus? And the answer to that is also no. You might become ill, you might have a problem that exposes someone around you.”

So, . . . apparently it is not possible to catch Ebola on public transportation. But it is possible to give someone Ebola on public transportation.

Ahh, . . . Americans behold The Government At Work.

DonDiego trusts that andrew5499 is comforted by this explanation and will resume using public transportation.

This is exactly how Ebola will find its way into the United States, . . . except there's no fence.

What should the government do, DD asks?

For starters, the federal government should stop relying on policies which, to be effect, require and expect perfection by health workers and rely on the "honor system" of Americans. Here's a perfect example of a lack of perfection. An unprotected person handling possibly infected trash bags. https://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/man-hazmat-suit-transfers-dallas-ebola-patient-cdc-plane-article-1.1976079

Today I read an article about a CDC press conference addressing the nurse who traveled from Dallas to Cleveland and back while infected with Ebola. The CDC told us that while in Cleveland, the nurse did not go out in public. Two sentences later the same CDC person tells us that the nurse went shopping while in Cleveland. The CDC then told us that the nurse's Cleveland based mother is being monitored for Ebola, and that all monitored folks are not allowed to fly. Several sentences later the CDC employee tells us that the "monitored" mother has flown on a commercial plane from Cleveland to Dallas be be with her Ebola infected daughter.

How stupid are these folks giving this CDC press conference, and how out of control is this agency?

There are far larger threats to the country, not the least of which is rising ocean levels. Was that a joke?
The CDC is proving it is another inept federal agency, led by a man whose last job was ensuring that the calorie counts were correct on NYC menus

Of course others are taking the threat seriously.

"The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is the most severe, acute health emergency seen in modern times."
World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Margaret Chan

“The Department of Defense’s number one priority is combating Ebola.”
General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs

“The Ebola epidemic in West Africa has the potential to alter history as much as any plague has ever done.“
CIDRAP director at the University of Minnesota, Michael Osterholm
The topic is Ebola. Rising oceans isn't until next week.

More Americans will die of the flu than Ebola this year. What are people more afraid of? I'm getting my flu shot on Monday. I hope it's the right strain so it will have some efficacy.

I got my flu shot yesterday. I hope the nurse didn't give me Ebola. She looked like she had a fever.
