I read that as the search for another woman would be easy, but maintaining a lasting relationship is more difficult and has moments of stress, but, again, worth the effort.

Maybe you're right and I'm reading too much into it. We'll see if he pops a gasket.

Always go for the jackpot...Max Coin In. Look for the best paytables (missing front teeth).
I'm going to try an experiment. I'm going to substitute "Fido" for "Shirley" in the Dancer article, then substitute "kennel" for "Country Western dance halls" and see if everything reads pretty much the same.
Actually, I question why he used the word "stress" when he talked about gambling? If he used the word "challenge" or "excitement" I don't think there would be as much debate.

I dont find 5-cent VP a challenge, nor do I find it exciting. But I find higher limit VP both a challenge and exciting. I find none of it stressful, however.

Give me the table with the bad poker players
Would you like that all day every day as your day job? Would you like living on the take from playing bad players at low stakes games? Or would you rather have work that challenges you a bit and adds some excitement to your life?
The bad players would adapt by improving or quiting the game. The boring but lucrative circumstances would end before most of us would tire of exploiting them.

I hate to toss my lot in with the haters, but I agree with the criticism of this column. Why would a person out his SO in a column? Does he think the rest of us actually care? This must be a dream come true for Rob Scheisser.
What the heck, I know nothing about Dancer, but I'll take a stab at playing "The Mentalist" here, just for fun. I don't hate Dancer -- hell, I was a big fan early on. I think he may be more in bed with the casinos than is generally acknowledged, but evidently so are other "professional gamblers," like "AC," "Stanford Wong," and "Arnold Snyder." All of that is irrelevant to the blog criticisms --

Anyway, "The Mentalist" is going to predict Shirley is older than Dancer. He's also going to predict when they first "hooked up," Shirley was Dancer's primary backer in many financial partnership endeavors. He predicts that's no longer the case.

It's a shame Singer isn't chiming in, because he seems to keep tabs on this stuff, but if anyone has info to prove "The Mentalist" wrong, please do so.

That makes me feel sorry for poor ol' Shirley. Say it ain't so.
Maybe he finds maintaining his relationship with Shirley to be stressful because one or both of them never was able to commit enough to get married. Living together, even for many years, is stressful. Marriage -- if it's a good one -- is much more comfortable.

What? He never made an 'honest woman' out of her? The cad. Typical ballroom dancer.
