Ever get locked out of your hotel room

Just visited with someone who was with me when this happend.

Had to run to Vegas for parts and my friend decided to tag along. Got a room at 4 queens (at the time it was a whopping $29 for the night)

Well that night we had a few drinks but my friend is kinda a light weight and he went up to the room. I stayed down for a while longer before stopping by thhe ABC store to get some rum and soda. I get up to the room and my friend is passed out. I turn on the TV kinda loud and shower. After the shower I realize I need ice for my drinks. Now I am just wearing boxer briefs and the ice machine is across from my door so I figure I can peek out to check for people then go over and get the ice so I check and no one is there so I dart across the hall and I begin to fill the bucket. I then hear the hotel door slam and I realize I don't have the key. I bang on the door but between the TV and his alcohol he is not waking up. Now I can't go down to the desk as the elevator down there opens in the casino so I am basically screwed...and yes there is alcohol on my breath. since my room is the last one at the end of the hallway so I sit on the floor and wait for someone to come down the hall so they can call the front desk.

Well an hour later I am asleep against the wall when I am awakened by security. I explain what I was doing and show them the now melted ice. They offer to open the door so I can ID. Well I show them ID and they say thank you and leave. When I close the door the sound of the door closing wakes up my friend. I explain and he said he had a dream that had this knocking sound in it. Needless to say I grabbed the room key and went back out to get ice. I am not saying where I put the key but after my friend went back to sleep and took his room key and gave him mine. The next day at one time he held that room key with his teeth...that made me smile
Eww!
My story is not quite as good. I was at the then Ramada Express in Laughlin and got to the room and tossed my room key and other stuff on the bed. I took off my shoes and then went to get ice. I, however, did remember to get my room key. I went down the hall, got the ice, and returned to the room where I put the key in the lock. Nothing happened! I took a look at the card and, lo and behold, it was my slot card. I knew I needed to get back in the room, so I went downstairs - barefooted - and went to the check-in desk - with no ID mind you, but I did have my slot card. After answering several questions, they finally made another key for me. When I look back on it, it is not only embarrassing, but a little scary that I could get another key made. I did have to know the answers to their questions, but still a little scary.

ive always been dressed when I had to go to the desk for another key.

but my embarrassing moment is not remembering my room number.
Not too long ago at Sam's Town in Shreveport, LA. My GF checked us in while I parked the car. I don't use valet here bacause I may want to get something form the car or go to another casino without waiting.

Anyway she checked us in and I met her in the lobby (the room was inher name and on her offer). I got my key she hers and off we went.

Later (I had left my keycard in the room as we went to the casino.

Even later I found her in the casino and said I was headed up to the room. I got as far as the elevator (you need your key card to input in the elevator for guests to get to the top 3 floors.)

I realized I didn't have a keycard. I went to the hotel lobby and asked for a keycard (I had the room number.) The desk clerk looked it up and lo and behold she had failed to put my name on the room. The clerk would not give me a cardkey unless she w as there or I was registered to the room.

I go back to the casino to find her and she is not there. After going through the casino three times I decide to play blackjack for a couple hours. Later she shows up, she had gone to the next door casino for a couple hours.

I grab her we hit the hotel lobby, I get "registered" for the room and get a new cardkey. All is well.

There are house phones on just about every floor of hotels for just these sort of reason.

I loose my key at least once a trip, but I often find it after I get home.
Because I stay t the Silverton so long, they keep on putting me in on different deals, I get locked out at least two times on each tip. Worst time is when I'm coming up drunk and the key doesn't work. Really pisses me off!
I have gotten locked out twice at Caesars. for some reason one time they had me as checking out a day earlier than I was supposed to. The other time I think my key got demagnetized or something. it jut wouldn't work. both times I just walked down the hall and used the phone near the elevators to call security to come up. didn't take them very long either time.

Never locked our of hotel room but got locked on our porch. My wife had gone to bed and I was in the 3 season room. It has a gas fireplace for heat. I was watching TV and finally got tired and deceided to go to bed. For some reason my wife had locked the lock in the door knob when she went to bed. The door also has a deadbolt which we normally lock at night. I can't get in the house and have no shoes on the porch and there is a 1 1/2 ft. of snow. I could either beat like crazy on the door and try to wake her up
or run through the snow in my stocking feet and get in using the door code on the garage door opener.
That's what I ended up doing. I ran through the back & side yard so fast my feet didn't even get cold. I did feel like a dumbass though.
