Ever Gone Through Bankroll Real Early?

I never have, but have known a couple of people that did.

The first was a friend that was backed for an amatuer megabuck bowling tourament at Sam's Town. He unfortunately bowed out early and still had three days to go. He had limited funds, but the room was paid for and he had ample food money. The genius of decided to grow his remaining funds and was broke in no time. He was fortunate to talk the airline let him fly back early with no change fees.

The second genius was also bowling a similar type of tourament. He fancied himself a good BJ player when the opposite was true. Three hours after getting to his hotel, he had blown about $1500 at the tables. This was all of his bankroll and most of his food money. He had the balls to call and have his wife (who worked for us) wire money to get him through. He told her he had "lost" his wallet. Unfortunately for him, others at the tournament spoke of his stupid play upon return. He lost more than his wallet when Becky was through with him.

What possesses some to go through every dime they have. I understand obsessive gambling, but this is nuts. Neither was an excessive gambler otherwise, just idiot material.

Good Luck!

Self discipline is needed on the tough Megabucks conditions. Got to make your spares. Guess they went on tilt on the lanes and the tables.
i have. then i went to the atm and all was fine again.
I've allowed myself anywhere from $200 to $600 a day for the casinos during my trips. And usually I'm pretty good at spending the last of it around 10 PM....rather than 10 AM, which would be a problem.
After my 1st trip 20 years ago when I came home with only a couple quarters, I quickly learned the importance of saving my winnings. So the bottom line was and is - it's okay to risk the money once, but not twice or three times.

So, what, you bet your entire bankroll on red the first day in Vegas?

If I was going to play roulette, yes that is exactly what I'd do.

Isn't that the reason the hotels have pools ???

I have known people who came close, but literally won a few grand on their last hundred bucks. This was back before ATM's were popular and the only choice was to cash a personal check or have money wired. Lol this was a little before my days of being able to go to Vegas. I always set an amount everyday of how much I will gamble. Rooms are almost always comped or close to it. With all the deal and coupons we always eat cheap and get good deals on shows. I always have extra money when I head home because of setting myself a set amount to gamble each day. I hate to think of what happens to the people who gamble recklessly.
The story I have is when my ex and I went to the Belterra in Indiana. We went early and we were going to leave late, just a day trip. We went to the buffett for dinner when a middle aged woman approached us. She asked if she would buy our 2 buffets on her players card would we give her $20.00 for gas money to get back home

Apparently she had blown all her money.

Helping her and us out, because the buffet was more than $20.00, we took her offer.

A few hours later we were headed back home and stopped at the only gas station down the road from the casino. My ex told me I wouldnt belive this but the same lady was in there, she had blown the $20 we gave her and was trying to get money wired for gas...i assume her credit cards were maxed too.

The tags on her car were from the same county we live'd in. Columbus Oh. Long drive.

It was sad to see somone hit rock bottom like that.

I too always have a set limit to gamble with everyday and a seperate amount to eat with. Any winnings dont go back into the gambling account. If i loose it that day, so be it, if I win, I keep it.
