Ever Gone Through Bankroll Real Early?

One good reason to:

Buy an "open" seat on your airline and to always gamble at the airport.

Saves on cabfare, hotels, etc.

At Caesars, BVEFORE total rewards program was implemented, comps were given based on average bet and time at the table.

A friend of mine -- a regular -- came for the weekend and had his usual $25,000 bankroll. But the table treated him badly and lost all 25K in less than two hours.

at the end of the four day weekend (three nights), he was told he would NOT be comped because he didnt play the required four hours per day. It didnt matter that he lost 25K in two hours... NO... he didn't play the required four hours per day.

that was before TR. And you think TR is bad?? LOL
I never have. I can only imagine the horror of being in vegas with days left and not being able to gamble.

I take a certain amount of how much i can afford to lose plus cash for all other out of pocket expenses. I never budget on a per day basis. I'll start gambling from the beginning and keep a running amount of how i'm doing. If i seem to be losing at every thing i touch, i hang up the gambling hat and go find my wife and see how shes faring. If shes losing(she only plays slots and a terrifc attribute she has is, she hates losing, so she will never go overboard feeding the machines),then we go find something else to amuse us.The tables and machines will be there tommorrow and we'll have new fresh outlook.

I guess i always have a running tab in the back of my head and i go by that and I usually come home with a little. One thing for sure, I can easily and i mean easily walk away from a table. When i'm gettin' my ass handed to me thats it,im done for awhile. Puts me in a rotten mood for awhile afterwards, but always cheer up.

My problem is arrival day. I don't budget for it and I'll spend the first hour or so trying to figure out how much to grab from the ATM to curtail my need to lose some money. (arrival day for me means losing day) After that much needed fix, I'm typically ok budget wise.

Unfortunately, both of my friends were also irresponsable in daily life and didn't even possess a credit card. I just can't imagine gambling to the point of being broke, especially without a credit card to get me home. Ok, I'll step off the edge of this cliff and THEN I'll figure out what to do!!!

Good Luck!

I usually bring $500 gamblin' cash to start and plan to save winnings w/each $20 I play. Sometimes I'm a good girl. Sometimes, especially if I'm alone, I go on tilt then have to make the walk of shame the next day. It's not that I don't have the funds, it's that I lost the self discipline I should have had. I'm much better when I'm w/someone as I'm spending a lot less time in the casino. I will say that several times I have played thru $20, which is usually my limit per slot (more for VP,) but had a feeling to put another $20 "just to see what will happen" and end up w/ a nice bonus/big win. I've never played thru all of my trip money though or became stranded. I also have comp rooms and some food, plus use coupons/use discounts, so my budget goes a lot further.
Some of us have a pathological relationship with gambling. My thought processes of being joyful or being filled with despair hinges on how I did the night before in the casinos. I don't think its mentally healthy to live a life that your mental state hinges on a turn of a card. I hate to lose, even a small amount. I have lost thousands trying to recoup a loss of a couple hundred.
My worst time was losing $850 of my $1200 BR the first nite of an eight day trip around 2004. I'm usually pretty disciplined but a fever just took over and made me lose control. About 2AM, I actually called my airline to see what it would cost to change tickets and leave. The next two days I did absolutely no gambling, spent about $10 a day on food, and then spent two days playing roulette for a dollar a spin at the Wild Wild West and $2 BJ at El Cortez. On the sixth day of my trip I started with just over $400 and ended up just shy of $1,000 after a very nice session of BJ spreading $5-$25.
I always could have tapped an ATM for more money but I was just so pissed I'd allowed myself to lose so much the first day.
Now, I generally don't play much the first day and certainly have not gone on such a tilt since.
Fortunately, no such thing has ever happened to me in Vegas. When I'm there, there is so much that I want to do and see that has nothing to do with gambling, so an occasional bit of slot play or roulette will never take me down that path. At home, in my local places, it's a different story. I ONLY bring what I've already said goodbye to, and I'm just a car ride from home. If I get ahead, I'm the stingiest guy you ever saw running out of the place, but if I start out losing, I'll chase it to the last dollar in my pocket . . . and that usually only take minutes!
I have never lost it all. I usually bring half my bankroll in cash and leave half for the ATM if it is needed. There have been a few trips that I have lost the first half on the first night but at that point it is off to bed and I don't hit the ATM till morning. I used to put my bankroll in envelopes for each day but have stopped doing that. I think the keys is self control and knowing your limits, but always have a security blanket. I cannot imagine the pain it would cause me to have my wife wire me money.
