Call me nostalgic but I much prefer the "old" Las Vegas as compared to what it has become. They just seemed to have a knack for making you feel special no matter what your level of play. I remember feeling like King Tut while playing three dollar blackjack at the Desert Inn. Yep I really wish it would go back to those days, of course it never will.
Yeah, its not the same anymore but I actually attribute that more to the nationwide expanision of gambling as oppossed to the corporate ownership of the Vegas hotels.
I remember the first few times I visited a casino in Atlantic City and later Vegas. They were magical places that offered entertainment not found anywhere else in the country. I still love Vegas but that magic is gone. Almost every major metropolitan area in the country already has gambling or will within a few years.
Now casinos are about as magical as Olive Garden. And I still frequent them cause I like Olive Garden...but its still just Olive Garden.
