The Fat Man is in trouble (Chris Christie)

I can't take the 5th at work. She wasn't at work, it was a special investigation by a special prosecutor appointed by Congress, and taking the 5th was her right. You are simply too much a simpleton to understand or discuss anything.
Good point

Is it the same thing we all know about Illinois and Chicago politics?

Lois Lerner's Punishment

She takes the 5th amendment during Congressional hearings and get paid leave and full pension.

Don't try taking the 5th at your place of employment and expect the same treatment......unless you are a member of this administration. And people are STILL DEFENDING HER!

Im glad for Jphelan's sake there is no legal punishment for making things up on a message board.
- if your employer fires you for an allegation without conviction you will likely have a slam dunk wrongful termination suit on your hands
- lois lerner is not a member of the Obama Administration. She started working for the IRS during Ronald Reagan's administration...but she has never worked directly for any president...or even resided in Washington.
- im still waiting for you to tell me what the crime was. Both liberal and conservative groups were targeted and to my knowledge there was no crime. But i'm sure you can fill us all in.

Ps....the IRS actually did politically target a political opponent of a sitting administration ...it occurred during the scandal free term of the last president you voted for twice. Not only was nobody fired in that legitimate scandal....but the right wing media circuit openly bragged and congratulated the administration for abusing their power in such a fashion. Im sure you were upset. Maybe you can link us back your commentary on it.

IRS targets NAACP at request of two Congressmen
Of course they targeted political organizations. Because political organizations are INELIGIBLE!!!

Lois Lerner appeared before a Congressional investigative committee and had every RIGHT to take the 5th amendment. This committee has oversight authority and she chose to take the 5th amendment.

In my position, this would be similar to me being called before the audit committee. Somehow, I don't think I would keep my job AND get a full pension if I chose to do so......be then I am a simpleton.

Similarly, if I received oral gratification from an intern in my office at work, I don't think I would keep my job - no matter how well I performed my duties. But then again, that's another subject, and I am a simpleton.

Politicians lie and the media spins, but at the end of the day, what matters is Ethics and Integrity. These seem to be missing from politicians in America today.

New Developments:
The mayor of Hoboken has accused Christie of withholding Sandy Aide unless she approved a redevelopment project one of Christie's donors wanted. She said she is willing to take a lie detector and testify under oath. Also, one of Christie's fired staff is willing to testify under oath if he is granted immunity.

BTW I am surprised nobody has posted this
video.

Um, no, it's not similar at all, because the audit committee can't PUT YOU IN JAIL FOR 20 YEARS!!!! So, on balance, I'd say "NOT SIMILAR!!!"

Lois Lerner was NEVER a politician!!! She simply had knowledge of what OTHER PEOPLE at the IRS were doing. But keep up the slander, since you seem to have nothing better to do.

The main issue about the IRS, Benghazi, DOJ (fast and furious), and the ever popular Obama care mess. Is what did the White House/administration know and when did they know it. We are all well aware that Presidents are being shielded by their staff to a certain extent as to be able to do the "I didn't know" about x, y, or z scandal. Although in Bill's case, he had a real hard time denying the stain on that blue dress....

Benghazi and Obama Care are real hard to deny as due to a number of factors if the President didn't have full knowledge, then he needs to be kicked out of office for failure to perform his duties. The President gets briefings every day on intelligence issues and that area of the world is at or near the top of the list. NOT to know that the destruction of the embassy was a terrorist act with 24 hours is a FAILURE of EVERY MAJOR INTELLIGENCE AGENCY in the US Government. Sorry, he got briefed as something this big doesn't get dropped, it gets passed on and REAL quick.

IRS and Fast and Furious present a real nightmare as now that these issue came to light, DOJ should have immediately appointed a independant special counsel to investigate each of these scandals IF the President was so outraged about them. Of special note was the bit about not questioning the people who were effected by the "delays".

In any event, the press continues to show its support for anything this administration does.... This in time will come back to haunt the press and the Democrat party.

Christie immediately came forward had a press conference and held the people responsible for their actions. He actually fired someone unlike the President that holds no one responsible for much of anything. Must be a great job to screw up a project and never get fired.....

He CAN'T be kicked out of office for that!! My God, READ the effing Constitution!!

The problem with all these people who want change is that they don't even know what it is they want changed. It's like they want to take the clothes out of the dryer, and put them in the washing machine.

The President of the USA does not answer to the citizens, except when he stands for election. "The President ... shall have Power ... to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur ... " Article II, Section 2. So as long as 2/3 of the Senators present concur, the President can make any damn treaty he wants, with, for example, Iran. Does it sound to you like he's required to make a Treaty? Or make a Treaty that works out for the majority of the citizens? No, the citizens get their say on election day.

If the Republican Party wasn't filled with inbred idiots and hate mongers, maybe they could find a decent candidate, FOR A CHANGE. The next Republican candidate will need to overcome the fact that the idiots in Congress came CLOSE to destroying our entire economy over the summer, the same way the idiots in Jersey tried to screw up the GWB. GOOD LUCK with that!!!
