Federal law enforcement officials have launched a criminal investigation of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and members of his administration, pursuing allegations the governor and his staff broke the law when they quashed grand jury indictments against Christie supporters, International Business Times has learned.

Two criminal investigators from the U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday interviewed the man who leveled those charges, Bennett Barlyn. He was fired from the Hunterdon County prosecutor's office in August 2010, and subsequently brought a whistleblower lawsuit against the Christie administration, claiming he had been punished for objecting to the dismissal of the indictments of the governor's supporters for a range of corrupt activities.[/Q

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, under scrutiny because of a 2013 traffic controversy, is not the target of a new inquiry into possible corruption, the Garden State's top federal law enforcement official said.
"Any characterization that we are investigating the governor about this is just not true," said Matt Reilly, a spokesman for New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman. "We talk to people all the time. It doesn't mean we're investigating anybody."

Exactly. Thank you, DonDiego, for clearing that up. Some of the lesser minds here don't seem to understand that.

Yes, I didn't realize this was part of the ongoing investigation of the Fat Man's misdeeds when I posted this. I thought it was an all new investigation.

Well, . . . not "exactly".

malibber2's original post in this thread addresses a new probe alleging the governor and his staff broke the law when they quashed grand jury indictments against Christie supporters.

DonDiego's sole post in this thread reports a spokesman for New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman says there is no such "new" probe.

DonDiego suggests forkush's comments regarding the "2013 traffic controversy" belong under earlier thread(s) which have addressed this issue.

No, on this thread it was a dishonest right-winger who first brought up the bridge scandal, and claimed it was "over." So obviously, this thread is an appropriate place to demonstrate the truth. Which I did, DonDiego, with a quote that you provided.

I bet you didn't mean to do that.

DonDiego meant to present the fact that the Governor is not being "probed" concerning the issues presented in the original post on this thread. He did so.

Whatever issues forkushV has with whomever he has issues doesn't concern poor old DonDiego.

I didn't criticize you, I thanked you. Remember, I said: "Thank you, DonDiego, for clearing that up."

Wow DonDiego, that's quite a chip you have on your clavicle. Maybe you should get that looked at.

Umm, . . . DonDiego did not criticize forkushV.

DonDiego said he was unconcerned.

It looks corruption by the democrats is why NYC is not getting the democratic convention. I know maliber would have posted this if he wasn't busy

From the NY Post

One national Democratic Party source said the mayor’s efforts were overshadowed by US Attorney Preet Bharara’s intensive crackdown on corrupt elected officials, including Democrats such as former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.

“You have all these corruption cases,” said the source. “Do we want trials breaking next year during the convention? How many more political indictments are going to be coming up in New York?

“Do we want Shelly Silver’s trial coming up around the time of the convention? Corruption was a real issue. God knows who will get indicted next.”

Yep. Both Chris Christie and Sheldon Silver are scummy guys who will never be president.
