Yep it's a violation of The Presidential and Federal Records Act Amendments of 2014

But Hillary's last day as Secretary of State was February 1, 2013.

Why would she have a personal account & not a govt account except to hide information

I guess you could ask Dick Cheney, Colin Powell and Mitt Romney as they all used personal email accounts when they held government office. I also think if you're going to question Hillary to remain intellectually honest you would have to disavow Scott Walker. He didn't just have private email, he set up an entire private network in a government building to hide his activities.
But what is she hiding? Why did she never get a state dept email account?

Former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton appears to have operated in violation of what the White House said Tuesday was “very specific guidance” that members of the Obama administration use government e-mail accounts to carry out official business.

Very specific guidance has been given to agencies all across the government, which is specifically that employees in the Obama administration should use their official e-mail accounts when they’re conducting official government business,” Earnest said

"It seems that Clinton did all of her emailing through a domain called 'clintonemail.com.' As the Washington Post points out, this address was created on Jan. 13, 2009, which was the first day of Clinton's Senate confirmation hearings. It’s not clear who set it up, but the domain was renewed in 2013 and is paid for through 2017."

So, apparently, Ms. Clinton used an e-mail domain created exclusively for her use. DonDiego supposes this is, umm, . . . unusual.

" 'I can recall no instance in my time at the National Archives when a high-ranking official at an executive branch agency solely used a personal email account for the transaction of government business,' said Mr. Baron, who worked at the agency from 2000 to 2013."
Ref: New York Times

So, apparently, it is unusual for a high-ranking official to use their exclusive personal e-mail account to transact all her official correspondence.

"It was only two months ago, in response to a new State Department effort to comply with federal record-keeping practices, that Mrs. Clinton’s advisers reviewed tens of thousands of pages of her personal emails and decided which ones to turn over to the State Department. All told, 55,000 pages of emails were given to the department. Mrs. Clinton stepped down from the secretary’s post in early 2013."
Ref: New York Times

So, in response to a State Department request Ms. Clinton turned over all the records which she and her advisors decided to turn over.
DonDiego trusts that these selected records did not include any that may be embarrassing or incriminating to Ms. Clinton.

"The computer server that transmitted and received Hillary Rodham Clinton's emails — on a private account she used exclusively for official business when she was secretary of state — traced back to an Internet service registered to her family's home in Chappaqua, New York, according to Internet records reviewed by The Associated Press.
The highly unusual practice of a Cabinet-level official physically running her own email would have given Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate, impressive control over limiting access to her message archives. It also would distinguish Clinton's secretive email practices as far more sophisticated than some politicians, including Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin, who were caught conducting official business using free email services operated by Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc.
Operating her own server would have afforded Clinton additional legal opportunities to block government or private subpoenas in criminal, administrative or civil cases because her lawyers could object in court before being forced to turn over any emails. And since the Secret Service was guarding Clinton's home, an email server there would have been well protected from theft or a physical hacking.
In theory but not in practice, Clinton's official emails would be accessible to anyone who requested copies under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act. Under the law, citizens and foreigners can compel the government to turn over copies of federal records for zero or little cost. Since Clinton effectively retained control over emails in her private account even after she resigned in 2013, the government would have to negotiate with Clinton to turn over messages it can't already retrieve from the inboxes of federal employees she emailed."

So, Ms. Clinton's exclusive e-mail account is maintained on her exclusive server located in her house. And "the Government would have to negotiate with Clinton to turn over messages" available only on her exclusive server.
DonDiego trusts that as a member of the most transparent Administration in history, Ms. Clinton would comply with any legitimate request.

If only President Richard M. Nixon had had a private server in his California home, . . . he might still be President.

Um, her murder of Vince Foster?...and Ron Brown? Her numerous lesbian affairs? Whitewater? (That one cost taxpayers over $70 million.)

So after all of that (and many more), you guys don't get to say "What is she hiding?" Write when you've got something.
I think we just found out who marcisdave is

A longtime Democratic strategist is taking heat for recent comments about how aggressively his super PAC plans to go after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

"We're not going to pull resources from Christie, we want to kill him dead," Brad Woodhouse told Bloomberg Politics.

Woodhouse is president of the left-leaning American Bridge, launched by Media Matters' David Brock.

During the Bloomberg interview, Woodhouse made the comment when asked if recent bad press about Christie would prompt his group to pull back.

He made clear it would not.
Maliber who keeps us up to date on these things, must have missed the news of NJ senator Menandez possible indictment.

If convicted, I think Democratic Senator Menendez should share a cell with Governor Christie (if convicted). And maybe James Clapper, the Obama intelligence guy who lied in testimony to Congress, could be there too.

See what I did there.

Of course there are those of you who always defend those who share your political ideology, and always attack those who don't. I would call you guys Hypocritical Scumbags, but I wouldn't want to defame the used condom industry.

That's the way both sides work today. Oh they occasionally sacrifice one of their own...but only when it's politically necessary or expedient or they think they can score points with it. National politics in the US is dominated by ruthless, money grubbing, career panderers who are motived by Greed, Ego and Power. Real Public Service is now an afterthought. Throw all the bums out.
