Favorite steak

When going to a steakhouse, what kind do you usually order? Porterhouse, t-bone, sirloin, rib eye, NY strip or something else. Some ribeyes are too fatty and a porterhouse is usually too big so I go with the NY strip (medium rare).

I like to order a medium rare porterhouse and then I usually have some left over to bring home.

Oh ! Sorry ! DonDiego thought lettuceman was asking about one's favorite stake.
I love rib eye, but agree about the fat on some. We have a great steakhouse near us that has an open flame grill and you can select your steak if you wish.
I always get it cooked med. I eat the more cooked outside, then take home the middle for the next day.

Me too - Prime Rib every time - there is a steakhouse at NYNY that dry ages it 45 days which seems to take care of the fat. I prefer it seared, then turned down to medium rare. A side of good mushrooms and a decent red wine - I don't need anything else.

Bone-in Rib Eye. But if fat is an issue nothing beats Santa Maria slow smoked Tri Tip.
Filet medium rare almost never disappoints.
Another vote for bone-in ribeye.
Filet mignon medium +

Had a real nice one tonight at Vic and Anthony's at the Golden Nugget in AC. It was restaurant week so it was a nice iceberg wedge salad with blue cheese, petit filet mignon, mashed potatoes and bread pudding for dessert for $33. A nice glass of Bordeaux and some asparagus were add-ons and rounded out the meal.
I am usually a Ribeye guy myself but a few days ago I went to STK and had a bone In Filet that was amazing.
