For drama, I don't think you can beat Casino. The "factional" storyline is great and the acting is better.

For comedy, I have to go with Vegas Vacation, but a close second to Honeymoon in Vegas. In one you've got a buffet featuring "the yella" and the other has a mother vacuuming naked. How can you go wrong? I know a lot of people would vote for the Hangover, which was good, but I'll go for the first two.

A couple of honorable mentions would be the Oceans remake because it's just plain entertaining. Leaving Las Vegas was a very good film, but I've only watched it once because it flat out depressed me.

Good Luck!

Leaving Las Vegas was depressing. So was The Cooler.
I knew I was missing some movies, so I googled it and came up with these.
First the good ones.
Rainman, Midnite Run, Bugsy and Godfather two. Of course three of these only had segments in Vegas.
Then there are these.
Con Air, What Happens in Vegas and the illustrious Showgirls. In the latter you got to see one of the kids from Late For the Bell naked. I would have preferred Kelly, but at least it wasn't Screech.

On TV we had the three casino shows, American Casino, The Casino and Caesars 24/7. I watched more than one episode of American Casino.

Regular series would include Crime Story which was great to watch.
Las Vegas was ok at first and then went downhill fast.
Vega$, who doesn't like Dan Tana. I always wondered about exhaust fumes
in the bedroom though.
Vegas only lasted a season, but other than the hokey Fremont street facade,
I actually enjoyed it.
Another short timer I liked was Lucky. It starred John Corbett from
Northern Exposure as a compulsive gambler that went around fixing people's
lives.

I'm done for tonite.

Good Luck!

I forgot about Last Vegas. I thought there was pretty good star power in it and it was enjoyable.
I loved the show "American Casino" that took place at Green Valley Ranch. It showed all the behind the scenes things that happen at a casino along with all the drama that goes with it. That show was the beginning of my desire to visit Las Vegas, especially Green Valley Ranch.
My favorite movie, hands down, is "Casino". Sharon Stone as Ginger was fantastic!
Aloha,
Jennifer

Thanks. I have seen some of these. Not all. I like obscure movies more than main stream so like to hear suggestions. Also fun to remember oldies. Since I am becoming "of an age". It is nice to watch thins again and see what time has done to your experiences.
Can't believe you folks forgot Mars Attacks.
Mall Cop 2, Paul Blart. I just watched it last night on bus turn around. Paul Blart goes to Las Vegas for a security guard convention. The entire show takes place at the Wynn Las Vegas.
Sister Act and Sister Act II, though Reno, not Vegas.

Whoopie Goldberg as a lounge singer in a Reno casino, is hooked up with a crime boss who decides she now poses a risk and needs to be killed.

The cops get her sequestered in a convent as a nun, "Sister Clarence", while they try to capture the crime gang. The convent's choir is pathetic and Sister Clarence (Whoopie) gets roped into helping them turn this around.

There is a bit of good footage of Reno Main Street, and casino floor footage which may just be studio creations.

Anyway, they are good flicks, upbeat stuff.
I enjoyed Ed Devine and Company - Las Vegas
Ok. Sad to say when it mentioned mall cop two in Vegas. I very regrettably tried to watch and turned off mall cop one. No amount of vegas live made it worth it. But kevin James is pretty unwatchable at all times.
