Ditto that.
Second place goes to full Hoover Dam tour (inside, they used to call it the Hard Hat Tour).
Blonde, I am a big advocate for Roo n More, not sure what politically they ever did to anyone, but I also went once and LOVED it and want to take my husband. I am from Columbus, Oh, so I know a real zoo and what one looks like and good animal care and they were doing all the above....sad what they are going through...if anyone has any say or input keep them on your advocate list. A great service and program for Nevada locals and is being politicized for some reason. Totally getting the shaft. A friend volunteered and was an advocate for the closing of the "official" vegas zoo. I never went to that, but heard bad things. Anyone been to some of these Lions Habitats? I know there are a few and think one closed???

I also recommend Deer Creek in Park City, the "country club" of ski joints, lol. Very nice.

My husband is the official Hoover tour guide in our family. I think he has went on the tour a dozen times. That is his domain when we have visitors...we have been here 12 years now, lol.

I'll look up the Black Canyon tour because I LOVED floating the virgin river for $15 in zion, but you have to hit the weather just right...call ahead, too low, too high, too cold, lol.

Thanks for the tips, I will look into some of those...

Chaf, we have went to Costa Rica, rented a car and drove around the whole place, lol....

A friend is from north Michigan, but I have never went up that far with her..,actually the same one we visit in Montana.

I have heard of Ely, but never made it there. Might look into that.

We have a dedicated remark against Mt Charleston and do not go up there. My husband got a traffic ticket from the same cop twice in a row when we first got here about ten years ago.....funny, I was recently reading reviews about their ski lodge and in the comments, people were complaining about getting tickets every time they were up there....fyi, all parks will have ticketing highway patrol lurking...well, not a way to get my business. lol, paying a ticket my husband got just now from traveling a back highway and they had a desert highway down to 55 for no reason and he didn't see the sign. We have rarely went to a park area and not gotten a ticket....never had any problem at zion or grand canyon though. Just the small ones.

Been to the north rim as well. It is nice and relaxing. Been to Laughlin lots.

A friend took us to the Green River? white water rafting once a while back, I think.

Thanks for the replies, we do get out quite a bit, just wanted to find places, I may not have heard of...there are always cool secret places. I went through Page, Az and didn't know to stop at the Antelope Canyons and now have to go back...but I love the Mesa Verde, but they are under construction.

Speaking of speed traps, be careful around the Boulder City and Searchlight areas, keep it right on the speed limit, both places are well known for writing tickets less than 5 over. Searchlight goes from a 60+ to 25mph in a hurry in both directions. It's a revenue grab.

Since someone mentioned Ely in an earlier post, you may want to travel along U. S. Route 50, dubbed "The Loneliest Road in America." Route 50 cuts through central Nevada, and the 409-mile stretch between the Nevada-Utah border and Fallon features only three small towns (Austin, Eureka, Ely). If you love vast landscapes and having the road to yourself for hours at a time, U. S. Route 50 may be your kind of place.

If you are looking for a shorter trip to kill a few hours , take 95 north out of LV , and turn on Cold Creek Road which is right at the prison . Go west on that road and you have a real good chance of seeing wild horses . The road continues up in elevation to the little town of Cold Creek . Talk about in the middle of nowhere ! Bob
Scooters is an okay bar. But if your a Seahawks fan. Game day is awesome! No better place to watch a Hawks game.
