For whatever reason, Faye returned home today at 5 PM after being told the other day that she would be released on Sunday. My friend and I were preparing for her to return on Sunday, so when we got the news this morning that she was coming home today, a mad dash was made to dust and clean and mop the floors so the house was ready for her return.
Originally, we were told that the assisted living home would have to inspect the house to make sure it was ready for her to come home. They were talking about having to have ramps installed and having a recliner that would stand her up so she wouldn't have any trouble standing. They also said they had to make sure that I would have someone in the house to take care of her if I wasn't going to be around. That would be most of the time since I work during the day, and even though the Gobernator...Da Arnold....has cut my hours back since he started closing the courts and hour early....I still wouldn't be around most of the time.
But this "inspection" never took place, and although she'll have whatever she needs to be comfortable and safe, it just left me scratching my head wondering whatever happened to the "inspection". But someone from her HMO called me to tell me that they would arrange in home care for her, and the insurance would actually buy one of those recliners for her. They actually gave her a brand new wheelchair to take home. She was very happy to see the puppies and they were glad to see here also. She had gotten a Filet of Fish sandwich from McDonald's, and shared her fries with the babies. They just surrounded her wheelchair as she fed them one at a time. Now they were really happy to see her back.
