The Mayor is doing what he was elected to do.

Really? They elected him to develop such a venomous and hostile working relationship with NYPD?

And I'm shocked...Shocked I tell you that you are siding against a public employees union with serious grievances about their unsafe work environment....that they perceive has been made much worse by top management's blind indifference to their plight.

I...on the other hand....am trying to offer a few common sense suggestions on ways they can mend this riff.

I can care less if you are shocked...or what "perception" of truth is by some union employees. Perception of truth and truth can be two very different things. And in this case, they are.

You've rested your case on the fact that some police members "perceive" the mayor provoked an anti-police environment. You cant quote anything he's said that demonstrates that as being his actual disposition...you simply point to some peoples' perception. Whoopy-friggin-doo. Some people perceive our current president is in cahoots with AlQueada. They have the same amount of evidence and quotes to back that up as you do for Mayor DeBlasio's anti-police disposition.

You've stated his actions to date are part of the problem but you cant articulate what those specific actions are. So that makes me think you don't even believe your own BS.

6 months ago we had a similar problem in Nevada where the governor endorsed an anti-government group in his state. WHen a prpoponent of that group shot and killed police officers in Las Vegas I dont recall AlanLeroy or Hoops or FOX NEWS saying the governor had blood on his hands.

Its not hard to identify non-serious people. They usually contradict themselves frequently. Hoops and ALanleroy do it on almost every political topic discussed here.

I am defiantly with PJ on this one.

And I specifically mentioned that I don't think De Blasio has blood on his hands. Perhaps you can point out where I have ever contradicted myself on any topic or any post.

All of my posts on this thread are simply pointing out that it's a big problem when the nation's largest police force believes their mayor is working against them. And I offer a way forward...and I offer ways to address some of the root causes of the real problem (Education, Economic Opportunity & Racist Drug Laws). So in my mind the non-serious people are the ones who are ignoring the problem or not offering any solutions to it. That would be you.

I'm just a problem solver and not a political hack....So I guess I can understand why you'd get YOUR panties all in a wad and claim I am contradicting myself....So go ahead...Where? When? Show us a contradiction in my reasoning or any of my 'frequent contradictions'.

Come on malibber....don't be defiant. We can fix this one if we work together on it. The Mayor/The Police Unions/The People of New York...they are looking to us for solutions. Maybe we can give them a reset button.

Another example of deblasio's anti-police bias.

When asked if he would apologize to the police he said "The things that I have said that I believe are what I believe. And you can’t apologize for your fundamental beliefs.”

THose fundamental beliefs would apparently include that he doesn't like the police

And once again, you make another ridiculous statement with no proof of its validity. Where is the the mayor's quote about not liking the police? Damn, your constant idiotic whining is really pathetic....

Melon - you really don't know how to read.

He is asked if he would apologize to the police over his actions. He replies he won't apologize if it violates his core beliefs. In the context of that question, how can not one interpret his response to be that he doesn''t like the police

Next Hoops is going to demand the mayor answer, "have you stopped beating your wife?"

"how one can not interpret his response to be that he doesn"t like the police." Are you fucking kidding me?

From all reports, his core beliefs are a. that cops should treat people fairly, and b. that the police should follow the law just like everybody else. But that doesn't fit into the right wing nut job world view, does it?

Hoops is a good guy he just takes his entertainment a bit too seriously at times.
Something I confess I have been guilty of myself from time to time.
