Ground game is identifying your voters, seeing that they are registered, seeing they get ballots, asking them to speak to friends, hiring buses to get your people where they are needed.
Hilary has people manning booths outside of the dev, in various malls, precinct captains, block captains.
In my complex, they have identified who is pro Clinton and are looking for volunteers to ensure everyone who wants to vote Clinton will have a ballot or a ride to vote.
That's how you organize and win.

Since you wrote this I've been looking around for any sign of ANY campaign going on around here and I've seen zero. As a matter of fact I've never seen a
booth anywhere, I've even lived in Northern Va. since we moved here '90 and remember, we're a big battleground state. There's been some visits to our state but that's about it. Oh we do get robo calls and mailers, but that's an immediate hang up and mail go right in the trash, I can't expect I'm any different than anyone else...
Virginia isn't a swing state this time. The latest state poll on RCP has Clinton up 16, and the two previous are up 12 and 8. It ain't close, so neither side should waste resources in VA.
A Roanoke College poll August 23 has the Virginia spread at 19 points. So it would be foolish for either side to spend money there.

We're experiencing the opposite regarding campaigning in Arizona, where it is a virtual dead heat between the two candidates. A lot of action. This is surprising considering that Arizona is historically a safe Republican haven. Arizonans have voted Republican 15 of the last 16 Presidential elections dating back to 1952. Romney defeated Obama by 9 points here in 2012.

Who here has ever read a candidates mail or listened to the recording? More Iimportantly, how many have ever been influenced by either?

I was thinking further about this and the emboldened part is a horrible idea. You may as well be asking somebody to possibly end their friendships. Advising someone to try and talk to their friends on their own candidate is a horrible idea, depending on how passionate they are it could lead to a big argument or worse (or more laughing in their face). I've had many discussions with friends before about politics but it wasn'i and has never been about changing anyone's minds. Personally I would never be so presumptuous as to try and sway one of my friends minds on such things.

If you sit down with a friend with this in mind, why don't you go ahead and bring religion up at the same. Could bring the same results.

Actually that's what evangelicals do. You know, evangelize. Mitt Romney took two years out of his life to do exactly that. And do you really think our founders refrained from talking politics?

No one is going to convince hard core Hillary or Trump voters to switch sides, but there are lots of people who are "leaners" and who just need a little push. This year the Democrats are going to do a much better job at that than the Republicans.

What Forkie really means, is that the Democratic Party seeks to taget and sway simple minded people.

You mean like people who claim that it's smart to split tens? No, I don't personally know people like that.

But I'll tell you who I am trying to sway. I know a successful professional couple, rock solid Republicans, who think that Mr. Trump is a terrible role model and a real danger if he got his hands on the launch codes. I'm pretty sure they aren't planning on voting for president at all. I plan on reminding them that "all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." And then I'll ask them if they plan on doing nothing on election day.

I have a lefty friend who might vote Jill Stein. I will be reminding her that Stein is anti-science, and contends that vaccines, GMO foods, and wi-fi waves may be harmful. And that a Stein vote is a wasted vote.

Another couple I know have already attended a Libertarian Gary Johnson rally. (And the husband considers the word "liberal" to be a good-natured slur.) I'll remind them that Johnson referred to Trump as a fascist, and ask if preventing a fascist from becoming president is more important than making a symbolic vote.

None of the above are simple-minded, and all of the above live in a swing state, otherwise I wouldn't waste my breath. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Are you also going to remind them about the hill's private server?, how about the meeting with the crown pronce of Bahrain that he got through the CF when regular channels didn't work? I'm certain you'll make sure they have all the facts concerning both candidates, it wouldn't be a truly informed vote if you didn't, right?

I'll just tell them that no one would be making a big deal about it if Hillary weren't running for president. You know, what YOU said.

CLASSIC twisting of words/reality by forky. CLASSIC!/TEXTBOOK! SO you'll basically just bullshit any of your friends gullible enough to buy it? Oh man, the audacity of anybody trying to persuade their friends concerning politics, especially when you plan on lying to them. How highly you must think of your friends.
Have any Methodist friends you wanna convert to Judaism? how about Catholicism? Give 'em a call, have 'em over for dinner. SHEESH!!
Okay, Jatki . Here is your chance to get me to vote for someone other than Hillary.
What is it about Hillary meeting the Crown Prince of a major ally that you think disqualifies her from being President?
