The first thread of the upcoming 2016 NFL season

Calendar of start up dates for NFL training camps.

It looks like July 20 is the earliest date, with the New Orleans Saints rookies reporting for that date. That is next Wednesday, less than a week away.

In other NFL news, Brady lost his appeal to the appeals court but can still appeal to the US Supreme Court. It is doubtful if they will hear the case. Let the huge whinefest begin for Patriot fans. Maybe Belichick can give Brady a camera and tell him to go film practices of their upcoming opponents, for the time that Brady is suspended.

Tip for making money this season. Bet opposite of what the weenie dogs pick.

It looks like the Under Armour Performance Center would be a mite overcrowded with the Ravens and Falcons both practicing there at the same time.

It'll be a tough commute for the team down there in Atlanta too. DonDiego suggests the Falcons use the Hog Mountain Sports Complex near Flowery Branch, Georgia instead.

Good catch Double D. I went back to see if I somehow didn't cut and paste correctly, but that is how it is reported on the NFL site. I've watched Hard Knocks, where two teams will practice and scrimmage several times during the week and then play a preseason game. Atlanta isn't scheduled to play Baltimore at all in 2016.

Brady announced he isn't going to appeal the deflate gate decision to the Supreme Court. Assuming he sits out the first four games, the opponents for those games will be the Cardinals, the Dolphins, the Texans and the Bills.

Now cry me a river Pats fans.

Week 1:

Panthers get revenge at Broncos.

DonDiego's beloved Eagles subdue the lowly Browns in the City of Brotherly Love, for a rare win.

Raiders cover the spread in N'awlins.

Texans embarrass the Bears in Houston.

Brady-less Pats lose to Cards in the desert.

All-in-all a pleasant first weekend of football.

I'm not hearing any good news on RGIII. If he isn't injured and not playing very well, how many games until he is benched?

The Super Bowl losers in recent times, do not do nearly as well in the next season as they did in the season they made it to the Super Bowl. Be very cautious of taking Carolina.
