First Trip Report of 2017 (Long with lots of pics)

How was your trip, Sionow? Did you have fun?
Bob,

I've never stayed at the Utah in Las Vegas...how how I missed this place?

I mention the Aquarius as my best choice for rooms because they are the latest remodeled rooms in town and they're maintained and cleaned well. Other places I stay are the Tropicana Express, Riverside, and very occasionally the Colorado Belle. All are fine but show their age. I used to stay at Harrahs all the time when I was a high tier member with their club. They haven't remodeled their rooms in years. The North Tower is to be avoided at all costs; however, the other two towers are just fine. Harrahs will charge you a resort fee...BOO!

That would be Utah as in Moab , Utah !

Enjoyed your trip report & pictures very much Jon. Hope you are not suffering too much with the blister as I know they can be
very painful. Actually if you talk with a pharmacist they can recommend a product I believe it's called Moleskin or something like
that. I had to use it years ago when I got a very bad blister skiing. It worked wonders. Hope you enjoyed your birthday last
Saturday. I am actually going to Vegas late March with a girlfriend & we will both be celebrating milestone birthdays. Mine 75
& hers 65. We fly in on the Monday night & head over to Southpoint to sleep. Tuesday - Friday we will be at The Cosmopolitan
comped. Looking forward to the trip as I really feel it will be my last one to Vegas.
Diane

Thanks for the TR Jon. The preregister option at Aria sounds like the wave of the future.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed report; I feel almost like I am there when reading ! I especially like the detail on different casinos, your previous trip reports have inspired us to go to casinos that we might have never visited. On a different note, I could have written the words verbatim expressed by Corgimom; we live in Southern California and for 20 years averaged 4 trips a year. Now we go every other year and the paid parking is kind of a deal breaker for us. We like to leave our casino home a lot during the day for outings, and to visit friends that live in town. The thought of paying for parking every time we go in and out has discouraged us from planning another trip. We do frequent the casinos in So Cal, so I guess that is the way of the future for us.
Tournament and other poker ~ that's my type of trip report! Man, you had a couple of hands that no matter what you did, you simply could not win. All of us poker players have been there.

We share many things in common: age, love of poker and video poker, and a feeling that Vegas is losing its allure.

Finally, I'll be going in 12 days and when I stay at The Orleans I'll be sure to hit the end of the Tuesday promotion and the Young at Heart on Wednesday … and poker. Lots of poker.
Interesting to hear someone else gets blisters walking the strip besides me. They have those cushioned bandaids that help but they are a B to take off.

I look forward to your next TR :-)
Interesting photo with the cab fares. We were just in Vegas from 2/6 - 2/9 and took 12 Ubers over the three days with wife going to convention center from MGM plus other trips. Average cost around $8.50 per trip. We didn't plan on straying too far off the strip so we didn't rent a car this time. My wife and I decided that we may always go the Uber route since we usually spend more than $100 on a rental car and we wouldn't normally take as many Ubers as on this trip with her going back and forth for business. We did take a few cabs with other people and I was wondering what the additional $3.00 charge was for and now I know it was for using a credit card. All the hotels we went to had a specific pick up and drop off spot for Uber/Lyft. They won us over.
