Fish Oil Pills (question)

Anyone take these .....

I'd like to, but the pills are gignormous.

Anyone know of a brand where the pills are small, or even better yet, a "gummi" version.

Thanks ............ Rick
I take 3 pills a day, 1000 milligrams each. Their benefits, especially for heart health, are well-documented by now and undeniable. Just about every doctor recommends them, although in a smaller dose than I take, probably around 1000 mg per day, but studies seem to suggest that even if you take daily megadoses like I do, they will not hurt you and may even help you. If any one has heard differently, I would sure like to know.

One caveat: take them with food to decrease the possibility of a fishy aftertaste, especially if you take large doses like I do.

Of course, as with any medication or vitamin/mineral supplement, CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!

I have bought them from Costco. While mine are not small, they are not huge. They are kind of the size of Vitamin E capsules. You do smell the fish smell when you remove the lid to the bottle, and sometimes you get the taste if you have to burp. I know that the oil is considered to be a very healthy fat.
I know all the benefits, ...... do not know where I can get small pills or a "gummi" type.

Can't take those horse pills. Acccchghhh !!!! gag, gag, cough, cough

Rick

If you buy the more expensive gel tabs they pack more good oil into a smaller package.

Fish oil is, well, oil. Oil goes rancid and breaks down in the air. They can't make pill or gummis. They put the oil inside the gel tab to keep it safe.

Gel caps are easy to swallow.

Get a can of PAM, spray each pill and take a big swig. You can do it.
Well Rick maybe you can take them as suppositories. If you don't see how-to info on the bottle, just ask and maybe some of us can PM you the instructions

Try to swallow a calcium tablet. The fish oils go down like jello compared to them.
I have no trouble with fishy taste from my fish oil pills.

However, once when we got to Las Vegas, something liquid had spilled in my cosmetic bag where my husband had wrapped up seven of the fish oil pills (enough for the trip) in plastic wrap. Dumb idea. Anyway, the liquid got to the pills, which made them break down and everything stunk to high heaven...LOL.
