It all sounds a little desperate to me. A block long outdoor bar? Who has been hoping for that to happen?

The article does make at least one good point, however. Downtown needs good entertainment to thrive. A few crappy lounge shows, Gordie Brown, and the Z-list entertainers under the FSE are not enough to keep visitors in the area. We love downtown, but even we find ourselves spending at least half of our time on the Strip because that's where the shows are.

I don't like "D" ........ from now on I think I'll call it "the casino formerly known as Fitzgerald's",

i dont even bother with "the casino formerly known as". i just say "barbary coast".

i still remember when i took an airport shuttle there and the woman behind the counter kept asking "WHERE!?!?!" and i stood my ground and kept repeating "barbary coast". finally someone else intervened and offered up "she means bills" and i countered with "that is a stupid name".

I don't like the name D either.
I think it would be funny if all of us
