A casino by any other name would be as sweet... or something like that. I appreciate the quirkyness of the Fitzgerald's offering (stayed there a few years ago - in both standard and VIP rooms), but have to say it's always been pretty basic. I had a room on the top floor when I stayed - but you could still hear the noise from Fremont St from the rooms, and the room was basic and old styled. The lifts were tired. The restaurants were tired. Actually, thinking back the dealers were tired too - I really did (no joking) have a dealer fall asleep standing up when dealing Blackjack. Unbelievable but it was early morning play and I was the only player on her table. I gave her 5 mins rest then called the pit boss. He took her off the table pretty quick.
Anyway, I digress. Any change of name won't change the property. But if the change of name is accompanied by significant investment and a change in management, rooms, and casino games inventory, then I'd give them a second chance. Come to the "D". I don't think they mean the "Dave" - but wouldn't that be cool? LOL.
Only one thing left to say. Each of us needs to D-ecide whether we go back or not.
